Hi everyone! I'm not exactly new to this site; I've been on the depression forum for a while, before I was diagnosed with Bipolar, and just kinda stuck to it, but I think I'm going to post on this part of the website as well.
I don't really have anything important to say just yet, and there's really not that much to tell about myself... My pdoc refuses to tell me which type of Bipolar I have, because she wants to classify it technically as a "mood disorder," so I don't have any "ruined opportunities."  I started on a mood stabilizer and antidepressant a while back, and they haven't had any effect yet, so I'm kinda losing a little hope, bit by bit.. :(
Anyway, best wishes to you all! I look forward to posting on here! And thanks for reading!

Welcome to the bp board! I float around to the depression/anxiety boards too. We're all in this together!

I have been giving this advice out a lot lately, but do you keep a mood chart? It can really help with your diagnosis (bring to your pdoc) and it's a tremendous help for yourself regarding how you are feeling certain days and what meds are working for you, which ones are not working for you...It's a great tool. Here is one link you can find some could search different ones too...

Meds are tough, hopefully you find something that works well for you soon. It does help to post here  since you do have a mood disorder....

Anyway, best to you and keep posting! Let me know what you think about the mood chart if it's not something you do already wink

Haha, yeah, I hope I can figure out what type of BP I have! It's a bit discouraging that she won't diagnose me, just because I think bipolar is a large part of my life and I'd like to be up front about it, but what can ya do? We live in a judgemental world. :(
Actually, yesterday I read through the posts and saw that advice about the mood chart, so I printed one out yesterday, so thanks! My parents think it's a good idea, and I'm sure my pdoc will too! It'll also help me- sometimes I change moods so frequently that I can't remember the exact magnitude of them! I didn't even know that those type of charts existed, lol.
Thanks for the welcome!!! cool
