Dear Sophie: Only a psychiatric professional can discern whether you have BiPolar disorder, or another mood disorder. So; get an appointment as soon as possible because they do have ways to help, whether it be meds, Cognitive Therapy or something else. Sometimes rollar coaster moods can be associated with situational factors; disharmony in the family, or just plain old stress. However; a firm diagnosis is very helpful so steps can be taken to stabilize your moods. Sometime lifestyle changes are necessary. I for example; cannot work night shifts as it puts me in a tailspin if I don't get regular night's sleep. Hopefully you will find a good p-doc (psychiatric specialist); quickly. We joke here about the wait lists as people offen spontaneously improve as it can take months to see a doc. Hopefully that isn't the case where you live. God Bless and Good Luck. Eating right, getting regular rest and taking a general supplement to ensure you have proper nutrition, as well as regular exercise and staying active during the day can help a lot in the meantime.
