My friends at HW,

I am to be hospitalized later this morning.  I don't want to go but I have no choice.  This say that I am experiencing psychotic episodes and I need to be in a place of safety where they can review my medication. My wife is a moderator on the headache forum so she might tap in to the bipolar forum and give updates.

I will miss you all - thanks for your support.

God Bless

Peter

Oh, Peter, I'm so sorry this is happening. I know it seems really difficult now, but you'll be fine once they get the chemistry right for you.

We'd all appreciate updates from your wife.

Prayers are going out for your return to health soon.

Take care.

I.G.

I know going to the hospital can be hard, but try to think of it as a tune up, to keep you running the best you can be.
Take care, sending good thoughts

Hi all,

I am PeterK's wife. Sadly I have been too poorly myself to visit him as much as I would like, but have been in contact with him multiple times a day!

To date they have stopped most of his meds as his Pdoc believes side effects especially from the Seroquel are somewhat to blame for his present state. As a result of that of course he has deteriorated further becoming suicidal again and is in a bit of a state - breaks my heart!!! The up side to this is that he is in a safe place in hospital and he will not be left for too long before they are able to do something.

When the Seroquel especially is out of his system they are going to introduce new meds to see if this can be controlled in another way. Sadly he cannot have Lithium due to a kidney problem.

I know he is very grateful for all your support as am I!

take care

Ann

Thank you for updating us. It is always tense when a member is hospitalized and we don't know how they're doing.

I wish the best of health for both of you. (((hugs)))

Thank you, Ann, for the report.

Prayers are going up that your husband will be given the right dosage of the proper medications that will bring the chemistry back in line.

I hope you're feeling better soon, too.

I.G.

Thanks guys for your support, sorry I have not updated you again before now. Today Peter is a little better and his suicidal thoughts do not seem to be there.

On Tuesday morning he was started on Abilify, and although it will take some weeks before it will take his auditory and visual hallucinations away, I believe it is taking the edge off things even after a couple of days!!!

Just so hoping that this med will give him a very long break so he can have some real quality of life!!

take care

Thank you for the update, Ann, and I'm glad your husband is improving steadily. I hope you are "soldering" through this well, too. Let us know
when you're able to take him home, won't you?

Take care.
