Hi - I'm here to find people who have hit the kidney wall with lithium. I have 21 years on lithium this month. Aside from the tremors, I swear by the stuff. Monday this week, Psyx told me to see a nephrologist - so here we go....
I'm hoping to hear from people who have been successful long term with lithium and who have gone through the process of deciding what to do when kidney disease becomes an active factor.
I'm feeling sad about
the dysregulation I'm facing if (denial?) when I begin to let go of the lithium. Feel like I've worked hard to get to the stability, with predictable cycles, I have now. Feel bummed that I could be in for more (years?) guesswork and disruption. Uncertainty is bugging me - but I'm still waiting to hear the medical facts from my doctors before making decisions.
Has anyone used Seroquel XR?
I've used seroquel as needed in the past with decent results and am considering this as the way to manage without lithium. Seroquel XR is the extended release version which could be more tolerable as a maintenance tool.
Anyone know about
the XR version?
Thanks - Heather
