Welcome to the forum!
Bipolar is usually treated with both meds and therapy.
Coming off meds can be risky sometimes. It is recommended that meds are not suddenly stopped. It should be gradually decreased, etc. before stopping. A doctor or your psychiatrist should also recommend if someone is ready to come off their meds.
Psychotherapy helps you to cope with daily situations. It teaches you skills to help manage your moods, cope with problems and things that can affect you on a daily basis.
