"You say you're not satisfied!

'You say you want more for your money!

"You say you like dogs.

"Well, I'll tell you what I'm gonna to do.

"I'm going to give you not one, but two, for the price of one!"

What was that? That was a speal my Dad used to go through every now and then.

He must have heard a carnival, or "carnie," barker plying his trade at a fair booth, and noticed his technique for selling his product.

So, you mentioned you like dogs, I was going to give you two for the price of one.

Well, two inspirational items, the previous one, and this one below, which both concern dogs, for the same price.

(the below is also from as was the previous one about the smile.)

A farmer had some puppies he needed to sell. He painted a sign advertising the pups and set about Nailing it to a post on the edge of his yard. As he was driving the last nail into the post, he Felt a tug on his overalls. He looked down into the Eyes of a little boy.

Mister," he said, "I want to buy one of your puppies."

"Well," said the farmer, as he rubbed the sweat off the back of his neck, "these puppies come from fine parents and cost a good deal of money."

The boy dropped his head for a moment. Then reaching deep into his pocket, he pulled out a handful of change and held it up to the farmer. "I've got thirty-nine cents. Is that enough to take a look?"
"Sure," said the farmer.

And with that he let out a whistle,"Here,Dolly!" he called.

Out from the doghouse and down the ramp ran Dolly followed by four little balls of fur. The little boy pressed his face against the chain link fence. His eyes danced with delight.

As the dogs made their way to the fence, the little boy noticed something else stirring inside the doghouse. Slowly another little ball appeared; this One noticeably smaller. Down the ramp it slid. Then in a somewhat awkward manner the little pup began hobbling toward the others, doing its best to catch up....

"I want that one," the little boy said, pointing to the runt.

The farmer knelt down at the boy's side and said, "Son, you don't want that puppy. He will never be able to run and play with you like these other dogs would."

With that the little boy stepped back from the fence, reached down, and began rolling up one leg of his trousers.

In doing so he revealed a steel brace running down both sides of his leg attaching itself To a specially made shoe. Looking back up at the farmer, he said, "You see sir, I don't run too well myself, and he will need Someone who understands."

The world is full of people who need someone who understands.

Just saw on the Weather Channel that Hurricane Mathew is in the Atlantic and heading toward Jamaica and Cuba.

You're in the Caribbean Islands, right?

Is the hurricane anywhere near there?

I'm hoping not.

When I saw the island of Jamaica on the weather map, it reminded me of the song by that name, with the words below, and the tune and words on YouTube, I'm guessing:

Or "Took a Trip on a Sailing Ship"
sung by Harry Belafonte, I'm guessing

"Down the way where the nights are gay
"And the sun shines daily on the mountain top,
"Took a trip on a sailing ship
"And when I reached Jamaica, I made a stop.

"But I'm sad to say, I'm on my way,
"Won't be back for many a day.
"My head is down, I heart is spinning around.
"I had to leave a little girl in Kingston Town."

It really is a pretty song. And the story. The story is heartbreaking.
You see, he met this woman in Kingston town, but....

I hope you can listen to it.

Have you ever been to Jamaica? Is there a Kingston town?

Is there a mountain? Tell, them to duck, they're about to get smashed.

Surely I jest. That was a popular statement when I was in high school. Actually, only one guy used to say it. He owned it, and nobody else said it.

When anybody would say anything, he would say, "Surely you jest!"

Actually, Jamaica is not going to get hit by the Hurricane Matthew. They're going to get missed by about five feet to the right, it looks like on my TV set.

UA. Are you sure you're OK with this weather?

Keep us posted.

Hey Tim Tam,

Pretty cool. Thanks for sharing.

No, we were very lucky. The hurricane missed us. It ended up curving and edging Barbados, and the other islands near there. But it did not form into a hurricane yet, so it was not that bad. We did have some rain and one land slide was reported in the northern part of the country, but nothing major. Haiti got the worst as I think they got hit by the eye.
Yes, it was heading straight to Jamaica and then curved. These things are really unpredictable. They are experiencing some rainfall and flooding though.

There is a wave and we are expected to have some bad weather from that tomorrow.

Hope you are safe in Florida.

I just saw on the Weather Channel at about 9:30 p.m.,E.S.T., on Wednesday that Hurricane Matthew killed 289 people in the Caribbean in the last couple of days.

Yet you said, "No, we were very lucky. The hurricane missed us."

How about explaining that to me.

It said Hatti, which you said, "Haiti got the worst as I think they got hit by the eye" had about the same number killed by the storm as the Caribbean.

How can the Caribbean miss the storm, and have about the same number of deaths as did Haiti, which may have taken a direct hit?

It the storm in your area with 289 deaths didn't bother you, it's easy to see why you aren't on the Anxiety section of this website.

You have nerves of steel.

I'm actually a little bit above Florida, about 150 miles inland, but I'm watching every minute of the Weather Channel to see how hard it hits our coastline, and what kind of rain we're going to get.

But if we have 289 dead in our state, I don't think I'll be handling it as well as you did, Miss Crisis Management.
