Once again thanks for the responses. This is a typical allergic reaction that was delayed and is NOT stevens-johnson syndrome in which i would have a fever, flu like symptoms and death like feeling. For reference for anyone who has a breakout rash of this, just get a doc take a look to see and determine that it IS AN ALLERGIC REACTION to Lamictal.

I dont want this to scare people as this drug has helping LOTS of people and reviews are fantastic and some of the best ive seen online to be honest. I just drew the short straw pretty much. IF your p doc does perscribe this to you just be on the lookout for possible skin reactions. Ive learned these drugs each have different effects some good and bad but hey thats what our body and mind are for to tell you whats right and whats wrong

Im seeing my pdoc today when i get out of work and will try something else. I know the mood stabilizer Lamictal did well for me but in the end my body said F this crap and said NO! like many said may take me a bit to find that medication(s) and i will. Ill just chalk this up to a learning experience for the future.

I'm glad you found the problem. Meds do help but there are also side effects that we have to look out for. Some experience the side effects more than others. My mom is very sensitive and cannot use any and any meds. She has to be careful.

I hope the allergies will clear up soon.

Take Care

Went to ER last night. Lead Nurse said this was a definite Lamictal rash and shes seen it quite often. Perscribed me 50mg of prednazone (steriod) for 5 days and 50mg of benadryl allergy to combat the rash and get it out of my system. Took that last night and already seeing the rash becoming less prominent.

Psych doc said that she is not charging me for my next visit friday as if the rash is cleared by then she will try another mood stabilizer. Wasnt the way i planned on spending my friday night thats for sure! Haha

Well before the lamictal went to hell in a handbasket it was starting to help me so maybe a mood stabilizer is the way to go after all. Lesson learned, cant fault her for it she is merely trying her hardest to get me better the best she can

Although i was only on between 25-50mg of lamictal for 2 -3 weeks i feel weird since i cold turkied it thursday by docs orders. It was necessary but i felt a heightened level of panic/anxiety last night. Possible withdrawal symptoms from coming off this mood stabilizer cold turkey almost a week ago?

Thanks turtle just havent been myself since monday and just feel on edge. Atleast im still on .5mg/day Klonopin to keep my panic/anxiety bearable then. Just feel out of body with DP/DR symptoms that are synonimous with withdrawals off psych drugs.
Even this morning its gotten better even after klonopin i was shaking and on edge but have calmed down now

Well today is a little better, still withdrawing from lamictal as the rhuematic thoughts and anxiety are fairly heightened in the morning along with shaking during that time. Atleast im only on .5mg/klonopin so im not on a high dose of a benzodopamine. WHEN i do get the right drug for me overall i plan on getting rid of the Klonopin. Pdoc says although ive been taking it for months weening off a .5mg/day dose wont be challenging

I hope you would find the right combination soon. I know sometimes it can thing a couple of different combinations and dosages before we find the right ones for us.

I think that weaning off with smaller dosages for some meds can help lessen the withdrawal effects. Everyone is different though so they may react differently to the meds.

Been a while since ive posted here. Lots to catch up on, broke up with my fiance (finally came clean with cheating on me). Lamictal rash is gone. Ordered tons of parts for my car for my show june 28th in PA.

However, i feel like im out of body again and dont feel like im my actual self like im not even looking out my own eyes and everything is a blur. Seeing my Pdoc thursday at 7. This is rough, a week ago i was fine than its just been downhill for me and my anxiety levels have heightened as well. Cant wait to get my life i USED to have back, i know i will but its difficult sometimes. Also finding myself getting agitated quite a but lately as well easier

REDGLI2012, I am sorry about your break-up and to hear what happened. At least you found out before you two took any more steps together. How are you doing? I am currently going through a break-up as well. Please know that we are here for you.

Good to hear the rash is now gone. Remember to use to coping techniques. Deep breathing helps when you start to feel anxious. Take things slowly.
Hope your app will go well on Thur.

User, it stinks but i have more important issues in life to tackle for example my mental issues. We are still talking and she is taking it ALOT worse than me, obviously because she was the unfaithful one.

Anyways just keeping positive and looking forward to my pdoc appoinment thursday at 7

Bi-polar, PTSD, Clinical Depression, Anxiety Disorder AND chronic Pain. These are the labels that are used to describe me by the medical profession. Don't wear a label. Find a competent Physician that can treat DUAL DIAGNOSIS, I can assure you that is what is going on. It took me 9 years of hiring and firing Dr's until I found one that was good, retired now...RATZ. Anyhow I am trying to say it takes tenacity and constant vigilance on your part to create a relationship with a physician that will listen to you and help you investigate all options. You may not feel that you can do it right now but trust me...you can. The only word of wisdom that I have is "DO NOT LET THEM GET YOU TO TAKE ANYTHING THAT WILL BE TAKEN OUT OFF YOUR Rx REGIME and CAUSE WITHDRAWAL!!!

Went to my Pdoc thursday. Shes continuing the .5mg/day klonopin and gave me a new anti depressant called Fetzima. First two days 20mg once daily then for remaining 12 days 40mg once daily pill (sample pack). Ive tried three antidepressants already with effexor XE making more tense and depressed, Brintillix pretty much made me hit rock bottom and nausea was terrible and lost a good amount of weight. This medication i was VERY weary of since my bad experience with zoloft and then the past two anti depressants.

GOOD NEWS THOUGH! ive already taken two 2 20mg doses and 2 40mg doses and ZERO nausea and NO loss of appetite and starting to feel a little better day by day. By far best med ive tried so far and in a group that once had me petrified to try again because of my hellacious Zoloft episode. Gonna stick with the 14 day trial since ive been seeing ZERO negative side effects and im sleeping with ease at night as well.

Pdoc she has done a good job being thorough throughout this entire process and she is still wanting to accurately diagnose me with depressive episode or really bipolar disorder. So far this med is fine with me. Will report back again throughout the week with more updates

USER, tommorow will be a week on it and i cant notice any side effects. Im sleeping WITHOUT my TV on consistently now. Meaning when i am in bed i can turn it off without feeling tense when i do and my mind races. Also ive been noticing a heightened drive to do more things again little by little every day. This is two week sample and called the Pdoc today and left a message for her to call me back to give her my status report on this drug thus far

It sounds like you've found the right med. I hope it will continue to work well for you. I am happy you're doing well with it. Finding the right med can be a task at times.

Update on me, been busy lately sorry for the brief hiatus. Fetzima seems to be working for me but the last week ive been feeling down again with racing thoughts and DP/DR. Seeing my Pdoc next week again and think im gonna up to 80mg of fetzima like she suggested last week at my next appointment.

Did some research regarding klonopin and found that it can cause DP/DR. Gonna approach my pdoc regarding this as well. I know DP/DR is a side effect of depression as well. Most frustrating thing i have since i still remember me before any of these problems arose and i know this shouldnt be a problem with me. However here i am suffering from DP/DR still. Look forward to the day when i can finally wake up and feel myself once again!

How's your sleep? I hope you would feel better soon. Keep using your coping skills while on the meds to help.
