I'm at my wits end. Ready to throw in the towel. They bring you down to the dark recesses of their minds. It's so exhausting . I just want to feel happy for awhile. I want to be around sensible, uplifting people then the chaotic life living with a bp partner. Does anyone share my thoughts? Any ideas? I'm ready to forget and escape to a tropical paradise!

Hi Loquito,

You are not alone! I have been feeling very down lately.

Here are some things you ca try to help make yourself feel better:

Turn up the volume on your radio, or on YouTube playing your favourite song and dance. Just dance like no one is watching. Remember to listen to energetic, jumpy, soulful, or happy tunes, along with songs that inspire you or remind you of good times.

You can try journaling even if it is for 20 minutes a day. It works to help organize our thoughts about our sadness. It may help to better pinpoint the reasons why you are feeling sad. It also helps you keep track of your behavioral and emotional patterns.

Are you a fan of reading? If yes, I would suggest you read a book, preferable of a genre you like. It can help distract your feelings and change it to a happy feeling.

I am a fan of scented candles. Lighting scented candles and just smelling it in the air of a room and be helpful. If you are into them, I would suggest you try them.

Exercising and eating a healthy diet can also affect our emotions. Go outdoors and take a walk. Eat a healthy snack. Know it can seem like a task when we are not feeling up to it, but take little steps, and try.

Keep us updated on how you are feeling.

Hi Cilly,

We do not have a wide variety here. But I usually buy Glade or the Goose Greek brand.
We have some local businesses who started making soy candles. I may try them when the ones I have finishes.

I am a huge fan of the vanilla scent. Actually, I mostly buy vanilla. I like Lavender too. I also tried Butter Creme, Rosewood, and cinnamon pumpkin spice once. It was nice, but I still prefer vanilla.

Lavender works when he's in a manic rage. I've learned now to.just leave the situation. I go to another room. He has no one to argue with then.

I'm ok. Looking for a renter. My quality of life has gone down since mesting my bp boyfriend 9 years ago. He bosses me around allday, yells at me and the neighbors, always angry and explosive. Tired of it all!

Hope you find a new renter. Sometimes, we have to let go of certain relationships in our lives.
I hope things get better soon for you.

I was living with unmedicated BP partner for a long time.

No longer with him anymore ,I can see how it has affected me on every level.

I have my dark days but still You need to take care of yourself first, hope thats unoffensive to you.

Care givers stop caring for themselves ,,which is not good.

Be mindful of your health .

Keep posting.

Good Luck!

Thankyou for writing Fully. It is nuts. It's like watching a different movie everyday. Always waiting and wondering what drama will unfold hour to hour. I was married to a very stable man for 18 years. Unfortunately he passed away too early. I've been with this guy for 9 and it's been the most unstable 9 years. I feel like it's 9 years going on 100! How long did it take you to realize that it was so unhealthy for you? It's gotta be bad for ones health
