Can a psychiatric medication cause memory loss?
I've never heard of that. But maybe it's possible. I don't know.
Yes. With a little research we can see that the medications inhibit glutamate which is a major neurotransmitter in the brain. One of its main functions is related to memory. Many psychiatric disorders are related to the production of too much glutamate. But rather than regulating it, it appears the medications inhibit it which leads to the many side effects. I'm not totally against medications but long term use could pose some problems There are natural ways to regulate it as well though.
