I had always been a nervous and jumpy person.
But in 2001, I was put on several psychiatric medications, as I was dealing with severe depression and other mental health issues at the time.
And while these pills helped me with my depression, at the same time, they made me even more nervous. Real anxious.
But in 2009, I was finally put on new meds. Also, during that time, I was seeing a therapist who was trained in a newer form of psychotherapy called EMDR, or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing.
As a result, my terrible anxieties suddenly went way down. I was finally calm!
I was very, very happy, as you can imagine. So happy that some people in my life were worried that I was getting manic.
However, I had been dealing with awful anxieties for years that suddenly disappeared. I had good reason to be happy. How was I not supposed to be jumping up and down?
