Hello,

Anyone who's used or uses Abilify. Iv'e been on it for almost two months now. Even though I get bad moods like irritability or agitation with out med's Iv'e noticed it to be more persistent the last few weeks. I'm wonder if anyone who's used this has had similar effects. It's been a bit more difficult to be in a good mood latley. Trying to discern whether it's the med's or just me going through a mood cycle.

Thank you.

You also may not be taking enough if the moods are returning. I would talk to the prescribing doc.

Thank you getting by! I considered that. I know for me it's baby steps with medicine as I'm sure it is for many.
Thank you again.

Hello jc77.I have been on Abilify for 8 months.I started out with 2 mgs per day and it got to a point that I wanted to crawl out of my skin..After going through multiple meds to go with the Lamotrigine ,the Abilify was like a last resort. My pharmacist told me to cut the 2 mgs into 4 sections and take one section until I can tolerate it and then continue going up.It would take about three weeks on each quarter of 2 mgs for my body to adjust to that dose .After about 12 weeks I was finally able to take 2 mgs per day and feel good.I have never felt better than now with the 300 mgs of Lamotrigine and 2 mgs of Abilify. It was certainly worth the time and effort to let my body slowly adjust to the Abilify,Good luck and I hope you find the proper cocktail of meds for you.

Hello Perfect time,

Thank you for your response. It's very helpful! I probably just need to give the abilify more time to adjust in my system. Maybe even dose it down slightly if needed. I will be patient and hopeful that these med's will provide good benefit.
I wish you all the best as well.

Thank you again.

JC77, now that it's October, are you still on the Abilify, and if so, how are you doing on it at this point?

Hello, thanks for asking. I'm not experiencing any side effects now but I'm not sure how well it's working. I also take an antidepressant and had the dose increased slightly and have noticed some improvement in my mood mainly the depression. I'm not sure if the abilify is providing any benefit but my dr. want's me on it for now. Maybe it's keeping me a little more balanced with the antidepressant.

Thank you for asking.

Abilify will help your antidepressant work better. It also helps with mindfulness. Helps you focus on what you need to focus on and stops over thinking. It is also a mood stabilizer. Abilify has a lot of good qualities. Besides helping with bi-polar and anti-psychotic.

I am glad that you feel less depressed. That is awesome in itself.

Keep hanging in there.

Hugs, Karen...

Yup works better with another.
An adjunct.
Usually prescribed this way. Booster.

Probably working in the background...as does lamotrogine.
Cheers. HT

Hello. I'm doing ok. Inching towards feeling better more consistently. I'm thinking of possibly going up a little on my antidepressant to get maximum benefit. If I'm consistent in doing what I know I need to do to feel better whether it's self care or working on relationships etc.. I know I'll do a lot better.

Thank you!
