Have any of you had Trazodone cause you to not be able to sleep and not really need rather than helping you sleep?

Thanks

I've never taken Trazadone anti-depressant.

But when I went to Webmed.com, about the 5th line under the title, it said, "Read Reviews” (by people who’ve taken it). The second review today said,

"I had been awake for five days and three nights. My PCP prescribed Trazodone and that night I was able to sleep. the next night I went to sleep but woke up after about four hours. I stayed awake for the rest of the night. The next night I took it again and the same thing happened. A friend told me about Valerian Root and Melatonin. That night I started taking it and have been ever since. I've had a full 8 hours sleep and told my PCP about my experience."

There are many other reviews by people who've taken the medicine which you might want to read.

It is a serotonin modulator, many side effects at start up. Not recommended in under 24 years of age.
It is an anti depressant, and comes also as an extended release, or is just one, must delve further.
Extended release will take time, as it is like a foundation treatment, in the background thus start up can be an issue. Regular chats with dr is recommend at this point. HT

I’m taking Trazodone. It isn’t perfect but it’s much better than what I was going through.
I’ve slept from 4 hrs to 10, that was glorious. But I always sleep. As it was I was going days without sleep. Good luck

Hi Valkryie,

Welcome to the anxiety and panic forum. I am glad you found us.

My husband took Trazodone for awhile for sleep. He takes melatonin now. I found some 20mg and he has been taking them for about a week.

Hugs to all.

Karen...
