Hi my name is Twiggy2, i usually post else were on this forum but i need help, i have never been diagnosed with biploar before but i think i may have a mild case of it if there is such a thing, my mind feels racing sometimes my heart beats are fast and my palms feel sweaty alot could this be bipolar or anxiety because alot of the info that i have read about on the net seems to be linked together as being somewhat the same as each other, i am currently taking 10mg of cipralex for depression a day and ativan as needed. but my thoughts still don;t slow down so much somehow i don;t even know what my thoughts are about because they are to fast it mainly happens in the morning when i wake up and sometimes throughout the day and sometimes at night i try to stop them o my own but having trouble doing so, i have an appointment with my family doc on the 30th and going to request a MRI so i can get a proper diagnosis and hopefully get this under control and appointment with ny psych on april 3rd can someone help me thanks. Hi twiggy
Racing thoughts are one of the primary symptoms of Bipolar but not exclusive to it. It could be something else. I don't know if anxiety can cause racing thoughts or not. I think you've made a fine choice in deciding to get this checked out promptly. Hope all turns out well for you
Take care

Thank you ellie 1 i have read about bipolar disorder to some degree. Nice to meet you. I was wondering if you would mind telling me what meds if any have you tried or currently taking i hope that it just is anxiety as taking the .05 of ativan seems to slow my thoughts down but i do not want to get addicted to it but somewhat scared that my thoughts will continue to race without taking. I hope that at my appointment i can explain these symptoms to my doc and he can tell me route should be taken to control it better. If i am diagnosed with bipolar disorder what are the chances that it can be helped? I don;t understand what is wrong with me when this happens. I am doing my best to keep track of my symtoms and at the same time let my husband what going on. I almost was going to ask him to take me to the hopsital today if it didn't stop but i took a half of an ativan and it help a bit. I am going to continue to take if i experince racing thoughts again until thurs. And i am going to read more about this type of disorder to maybe get a better understanding about. Sorry to talk your ear off. Thanks again for your response. Twiggy2
