--I must admit-- I was prescribed Neurontin as a mood stabilizer back in January.      I was taking it twice/day & a felt it was helping my hypomania somewhat.  But, i was getting some acid reflux (even tho i take protonix)- so i stopped taking it in March.
Now, I feel very hypo manic...agitatated..easily upset & I'm going to start taking it again (I am taking Seroquel for sleep)----
What i'd like to hear is are there ANY "success stories" with Neurontin for bipolar hypomania ?  (I'm BP 2....)--- I know it's used as "off label" for hypomania...but---just would feel better if there were ANY "good results" with Neurontin.
Please---someone...anyone ...get back---regards--Robert

I've heard it isn't nearly as effective as other meds. I'm BP2 also and am on Lamictal and Prozac. Really like the Lamictal as even when I become hypomanic, I don't have as severe of racing thoughts and can often take a couple of Benedryl to help settle me down. Told that to my Pdoc and she said they used to do that years ago. Weird.
