Hello all! I am one of the 8000 people that signed up for the ******* lawsuit. I was sent many letters and signed away all my rights. I am supposed to recieve a settlement for an amount of money undisclosed by myself. I was told I would recieve the money by June 1 of 2006. Then by July 30 of 2006. Then I signed a final release paper and was told I would recieve the settlement by 30 to 45 days from the reciept of the final settlement. I have recieved no news. I sent an email to the lawyer located in California. I was told then the medicare settlements werent done. Then my email address was blocked from the lawfirm. Any one can start another one. I used the new one at the end of the 45 days and was then told that the firm would start recieving individual payments on Sept the 15th of 2006. They could not tell me if I was #1 on the list or #8300 as the email i reicieved put it. The paperwork that gave the award amount on Dec 30th of 2005 said the firm in New York state that were reviewing the medicare cases, got 10 million for the settlement of the awards plus the interest on the rest of the 690 million dollars. This fund is drawing nearly 57,000 dollars a day at simple 3% interest. This is not even figuring if it is compounded daily. Does anyone else have any comment. Is anyone in the same boat that i am in. I am already having kidney problems. I will be dead before the give out the settlement at this rate.
Message from Forum Administrator (CounterClockwise): I've had to edit some of your post because of Rule #10:
"10. No posts of an overtly political or religious nature OR posts promoting advocacy of particular personal, medical, legal, religious, political, or non-profit causes.  The forums are intended for offering mutual personal support.  Debating controversial subjects should be taken elsewhere.  Limited religious references are allowed (ie. "my prayers are with you" or a brief quote as part of a larger post), but the forums should not be used to convert others."
Sorry about this: not trying to compound your problems! It's just that we have to be careful with the rules (for legal reasons).

Hi Justaman,

This sounds like quite a business that you're going through. II'm so so sorry you have this on your plate. It sounds like you could do worse than to speak to an attorney about this. In the UK we have Citizens Advice Bureau that can help with legal matters free of charge. I wonder if there's something similar for you in the US?

Sorry once again that I've had to edit your post -- you must feel like the whole world's against you!! I really don't want you to feel that: we're here to support you emotionally, and we will help in ways that we can, but we have to be careful on the forum rules, as otherwise this site could have its own lawsuit on its hands!

You take care, and let us help you with the emotional side of this, eh?
