Lupus/Bi-Polar Disorder and treament w/Lamictal

  Hi, my name is Kristin and I am writing to see if anyone has any information on Lamictal and if they have heard of any side-effects for Lupus patients.  My daughter is 10 years old and has bipolar disorder.  I believe she also has lupus.  So far she just has the malar and discoid rashes, off and on liver enzyme problems and some neurological/muscular problems - nothing too severe.  (I have Lupus CNS and it is a disease carried throughout my mother's side of the family).  She currently takes Seroquel and has been medicated since 4/5 years old.  Unfortunately, it helps with her manic states but she is still severely depressed (just less suicidal).  The psych. suggested Lamictal but I was concerned about her rashes and liver issues.  On the other hand, I don't want her so sad and agitated.  It is a difficult spot to be in and I want to gather as much information as possible.  I am happy to take any suggestions or information that you may have available.
