I take 50 mg of seroquel as needed for sleep. It knocks me out with 45 minutes of taking it and helps me sleep very well. It takes me a little longer to get going the next day, but well worth the sleep.

Hi Penny,

Welcome to HW.  I took Seroquel for sleep & for my bp but it didn't work out for me.  I was completely out of it the next day; it was so bad for me I could barely function or move around.  Hopefully you have much better results.

Zomese!  I have been thinking about you and wondering how the Seroquel is working for you...It's good that you are more comfortable taking it now.  And it's great that you're getting some rest.  I'm so proud of you!  Keep in touch!

I have been taking 200 mg. of Seroquel for sleep since March 07.  It does the trick for me and I love being able to sleep but I have gained 20 lbs. since starting the medication.  I will put up with the side effects to be able to sleep!  I was wondering if you have a very dry mouth during the night?

I was also wondering how you were getting on as had some discussion with you in your earlier post?

Penney, my hubbie has had good success with seroquel and has felt good the next day but has not taken the xr version yet.

Just my personal experience with Seroquel -

It was horrible! And I was on a low dose, it knocked me out after about an hour, and I could never work through the tiredness.

I believe it also caused me my first hallucinations when I awoke in the morning. They were terrifying!

As soon as I got off of Seroquel, all those side effects went away.

So it did not work for me at all.

Dear Penny, I am a 33year old female and I take the regular Seroquel.  I take it at night and it helps me sleep.  I sleep soundly and wake up clear headed.  I am very impressed with it so far (but I can't imagine using it during the day).  Hope your experience is a positive one!
