Hi everyone,
My family went to my sister's home to have Thanksgiving dinner and I met up with all my brother's and sisters and their families. We had a lot of people there.
I knew it would be a long day, and on Holiday's my anxiety always kicks in big time, plus I think of my deceased loved ones like my Mom, Dad & Brother who are no longer with us, so I get kind of depressed too.
But I made sure to get up early today, and start the day off nice and slow. Had my coffee and breakfast, checked my e-mail, and I even took my shower early and did my hair/make-up without rushing. I heated up my potato dumplings to bring and even had time to help my daughter make her broccoli dish.
I brought my back-up xanax, just in case I would have to use it. But everything was fine and layed back and I had a really good time. I didn't need to use it! :-)
I came home and got in my jammies early and me and my hubby just chilled and watched some T.V. It was one of the best Holiday's I had in a long time. (Especially since I have been very irritable lately. I just came off some steriods so I know that is where the irritableness was coming from.)
I know we all have been going through some hard times the last few weeks and I was just curious how others had spent there day and if they got through it okay.
Serafena, did the meds work out well for you?
Join in and post about your day and how you felt and got through it.

Hi Sukay,
With a couple of exceptions, my day was very good.  The kids and I made 4 pies and stuffing, and I made the rest of the dinner myself with a little help here and there from from my oldest son who will be 22 next month.  He is such a great kid.  He brought his fiance with him - we all had fun, even while at dinner, picking on each other, poking fun at my blonde daughter (yes about blonde things LOL) - she really is sooo blonde some tims.  But she's funny as hell.
After dinner, the kids took care of the food, did the dishes and cleaned up the kitchen.  We then played some games (which I lost miserably - LOL) and continued to just have fun in general.  Then of course it was DESSERT time - we had pumpkin pie, lemon meringue creme pie and a fudgy chocolate pie - all of which were very good.
The only wish I had for the day was that my dad and stepmom could have been here, but they live 3 hours away and just weren't up to making the drive.  I certainly don't blame them, but it just would have been nice to have them here.
So, all-in-all it was a great day with lots of fun.  I hope everyone else was able to enjoy the day with family and/or friends.

We took a different approach on the holiday this year since we will be seeing my family for Hanukkah in 2 weeks time anyway, and my H is a bit scattered. So, on Thanksgiving...we went to the Pirate Adventure Dinner Show, and had a blast with just the kids. Then, we went to Knottā€™s Berry Farm the next day, and the day after that cooked all day and had a houseful of friends for a belated "FRIENDS" Thanksgiving feast. It was great. We had the opportunity to see friends we hadn't seen in ages, eat yummy food together, and then on Sunday...cuddled, rested, watched movies, and hung out together as a family being lazy until school came again on Monday, while pigging out on leftovers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL....hopefully it will go down as one of the best my kids will remember. But that is for them to decide. It was WONDERFUL for me...that is for sure. LFW
