I was just curious if I was the only one that experiences a high at the holidays instead of the more normal depressive episode.  With the exception of last year, this has always happened to me.  I become very hypomanic at Christmas time.  I'm not sleeping, having nightmares, and running around the house doing things like crazy and still getting nothing done.  Even the Ativan isn't doing much.
Good judgement comes from experience and alot of that comes from bad judgement.
You just have to accept that some days you're the pigeon, and some days you're the statue.

Hi Ellie,

The last few years, I haven't felt hypomanic; I've been a bit depressed.  It's just hard 'cause for the last few years I haven't had any money to buy my parents, sister, etc. any gifts and I enjoy doing that.  This year is hopefully the last year that I will be broke; next year I hope to have my career and that will help me feel a bit better for sure.

Although my mood hasn't been as high as I would like it lately, I am looking foward to seeing my family.  And I know that will make me happy.

Either way, I hope you have a great holiday; I hope all of us do!
