Spent the morning in the surgical unit, gowned up, socks on,  pee in cup, blood pressure taken 172 over 102, yeah I'm nervous.  Taken over to radiology for the guided wire. A mammogram is done....and another...and another...they can't find it. Ultrasound is done of the area again..nothing there but veins. Mark the area it was in go back for another mammogram...nothing there. Whatever was there the beginning of June is now gone. Talked to the sugeon who looked over my films from 2005 till now, he sees nothing in today's slides. He said I can go in and take out breast tissue but that's all it will be, there's nothing to remove. Have another mammogram in 6 mos if something shows up again call me. I said why not 3 months and he said things won't happen that fast. Boy....what a day.
I have an excellent radiologist, my DIL used to work for him and she does mammograms so she was with me for all of this. He had said in the beginning he thought it might have been a bruise but wasn't 100% sure and he also said things like this could turn into cancer so it's best to have it removed. I had bruised myself 6 months before. I waited 3 additional weeks for the surgery as it was cancelled the first time so I could be off my meds longer and than my surgeon went on vacation for two weeks. I could have had one of his partners do it but I opted to wait. Sometimes things just happen for a reason, time was on my side.
Thank you ladies for being here. I plan to check back periodically to see how everyone is doing. I'm mostly on the Prostate cancer site since my husband is battling that. So far he is doing well he had the seeds done on the 23rd. It's been a busy month for us.
