Okay, so here's an update....so now it's been 3 1/2 months since biopsy. I am still getting twinges of pain on that side. I still feel a little bump from one of the hematomas and if pressure is applied, it is sore. Not too bad but enough to know the soreness is there. Now with that being said, I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it, but I did start my period 8 days early and it was lighter than usual and only lasted 4 1/2 days which normally mine go 6 days. Anyway, the discomfort on the side where my biposy was can be any where on that side nit just at the biopsy site. Really? This long afterwards? Will it ever get better?

Hi, well it's almost been 9 mo now since my biopsy and here's where I am at...
The pain has mostly gone but not always. I woke up last night because of the pain from laying on that side. I am premenopausal and wonder if hormone fluctuation can cause pain in the scar tissue that I was told that I had? Remember, I had two biopsies a week a part because they didn't get in the right area they needed to the first time. Does anyone feel that after getting this biopsy that one breast now feels lumpier than the other one? I did have my 6 month follow up. I now believe that the reason for the fibrocystic change was because of now being in premenopause which back then, I thought it was because of too much caffeine. Any thought? I just didn't think the tenderness/off and on pain would have been gone by now but then again, the fluctuating hormones may magnify pain.

luvtherockymtns - How are you doing now?
I am going through almost the same exact situation as you have. It has been over 3 year now and I still have pain/discomfort on my right breast after having a biopsy in which I got a very large hematoma. I went to a breast specialist and she said she could do surgery to remove the hematoma or I could just wait to see if my body would reabsorb it. She put me on an antibiotic and it did reabsorb as far as I know. I have weird pains with certain bras and figure It is scar tissue or possibly a nerve problem. I have had several mammograms since and they disregard my pain. I have even had a double core biopsy since on the left breast and was terrified that I would go through the same thing as I have gone through with the right breast. I stressed to the radiologist the horrible experience I had on the right breast and he assured me that everything would be fine. He did a great job. Thank God the double biopsy on the left went very well and they were able to drain my cysts and the results were benign. It is time for my annual mammogram again and I am having the same pain in the right breast after 3 years now. I am thinking about going back to the breast specialist that I originally went to after the hematoma to see if there is anything she can do to relieve the discomfort/pain. Wondering if you ever got relief from your situation. I hope you are doing well now.

Hi nanatofive & welcome to Healing Well. I wanted to let you know that luvrockymtns has not posted in this forum in 4 years. I did look to see if she had an email address listed in her profile & she does not. I am sorry I am not of much help.
