Hi Connie,
I have a question for you if you don't mind...
A friend of mine is an 11 year BC survivor. About 8 months ago they discovered tumors on her liver, pancreas and esophogus. She just completed six months of Doxil and Taxol and her latest MRI showed that the tumors are gone.
Next stop is rads. They are going to radiate the pancreas and esophogus but her onc told her the liver can't be radiated. So they are going to admit her to the hospital and do a direct line of chemo straight to the liver. She said that her onc said there would be no side effects of this because it goes straight to the liver and no where else.
Is this like your seeding? Or is the seeding another option for her if this doesn't work?
Thank you in advance if you have the time and/or energy! to answer this. From the day I was first dx'd you have always been the smartest person I know to come to with these questions!
My friend's name is Kathy and she is 54 years old.
Thank you Connie,

Just rmembered I had an email from Connie saying she was going to the dr today and off to see her family in MO tomorrow for a week. So you probably are not going to get an answer until she returns. Let's say a prayer for a safe journey for Connie and hope she has a wonderful visit with her family. And a prayer for your friend Kathy that the treatment works well. Hugs MK

eyes   Chemo direct to the liver can be effective, however it is highly toxic. I would encourage her to see an interventional radiologist. They do SIR spheres, (the one you called seeding) radio-frequency ablation, & chemo-embolization. She might be a candidate for one of these procedures. (she needs to take the most recent CT scan/abdomen with her)  They've had some very good results from these newer techniques. >>>L&H..Connie...14 >>> >MK, thank you for your good wishes!   eyes
