9 mos or so I was diagnosed with Galactorrhea because I have milky discharge from both breasts. I have had a total hysterectomy and I do use hormone replacement therapy via patches. I also take some other meds as listed below in my signature line. I had a blood test done to diagnose this and it was positive. However, I have had this milky discharge ever since my last child was born and he turned 20y/o today. After my 1st child they gave me the medicine to clear up your milk, but when 2nd child was born, they quit giving it because they said it caused cancer.
Heres the NEW thing; for several weeks now, I have had a greyish color discharge from 1 breast just in one area, not the entire breast and it has stumped me.......At times I have thought maybe it had the slightest hint of greenish color, but i declare it isn't, it is grey. There isn't an odor and it doesn't produce this color everytime, it's like every 2nd or 3rd time that is comes out usually and sometimes more often than that. I just don't know whether to be concerned, or if I'm making something out of nothing.
I also have fibercystic disease in my breasts and they are painful and they feel warm and swollen if I don't manually release the milk every so many days. I have tried not doing this, but they get so full feeling that I just can't stand it and the breast that is NOT greyish discharge in color will have such force behind it that when I mash it, it just SHOOTS out.
I had a mammogram done probably 6 mos ago because of this and because I am 40 y/o and nothing alarming showed up; or at least they sent me the paper saying that it was a normal result.
I was just wondering if anyone on here had ever experienced anything like this before and if so, what went on with you. I tried to call the doctors today to make an appt about it, but they all closed early on Fridays; re: OBGYN and primary doctor. So I will have to wait until Monday to speak with them. By the way, my primary doc is the one who ran the tests and all and diagnosed me with the Galactorrhea.
I have read some about this condition and it states that it is usually because of a small pituitary gland tumor, but can be because of medicines as well. Although, I still don't know about this greyish discharge, because I can't find anything about a greyish color discharge in any literature that I have access too.
If anyone knows anything about this, will you please share your information with me, I would greatly appreciate it.
