I am not a fan of the Grammy's, but in flipping channels, I caught her walking out on stage in her bald glory, doing a phenomenal rendition of Janis Joplin. She looks fabulous!  I presume she is in the middle of chemo, I had lost track of her treatment after she was diagnosed.

How confident she looked! Even though her disease is public, as was mine, I never let anyone see me bald. She has embraced it and I am so glad for her, and that she is willing to be "out" with that too.

L&H,

Lori

We are watching too. DH works as an engineer for local public radio. Los Lonely Boys played at his station when they really were Lonely
I was rather proud of Melissa. She looks and sounds great.

Watched the Grammys just to see Melissa...like Lori, I never went out in public without my wig or scarf.  What an empowering thing that Melissa did for so many women tonight.  She looked beautiful and healthy!

Hey Christi- great to see you! Yes, she looked so healthy! That is what is so great too, is that she showed the world that you can have BC and chemo and keep on living!

I have several of her albums, but that bumps her up a notch in my eyes.

I just saw her clip this morning on the Today show.  How brave and couragous of her.  There has been nothing in the news of her since she had her surgery and I kept wondering how she was doing.  and now I know.... she is doing fine.

I got so choked up when I saw her. But you are so right Lori. The sun still comes up every day even though you have cancer.  I think that it why it is so important for women (and men) to keep up as much as possible with their daily routines.  I know having Jordan is what kept me going.  Can't say that she really cared that I was tired and sick when I was going through chemo.  She just wanted her bottle.  Of course she was only 6 months at the time.

I missed seeing her. I began watching the Grammy show but there is so much I really don't care about I finally gave up and read. Now I am sorry. But I want to add that anytime I saw any of you and also my daughter bald, you were beautiful. Every one of you. In Cincy at our first meeting there was Cathi and Annie. I have the picture of Annie and Jordan someplace that I do need to find and send to Annette. And at Louisville last May there was Leah in her shining dome and her beautiful shining smile that will remain in my memory forever. And Ellen with her wispies and her beautiful smile........... and those pretty eyes! You are all beautiful to me with or without hair, inside and out. Love, MK

Here is a link for pictures. I had the Grammys on, but sadly missed Melissa Ethridge's performance. Brave lady. Lauri

Thanks for sharing that site, Lauri. I missed it too. My daughter was watching it this evening and called me to ask if she had cancer. Gee, I would have ditched the wig and scarves if I looked that good! She's terrific!

Thanks again for sharing.

Rita

I got to see her today on one of the entertainment news shows. They were going over high spots of the Grammys and there she was singing away. My first thought when I saw her was how much she and Leah looked alike. Then I realized my daughter looked like them, too........ All beautiful. I loved her message to those who were in bed struggling through chemo, "You can do it!" It is wonderful she can be herself without all the extra trappings of personalities. Gees many of them wear wigs even if they are not bald from chemo just because they want big hair, etc. Thin king Dolly! Now I need to check Lauri's URL. Hugs MK
