Stone Phillips did an extensive interview with Melissa Etheridge on Dateline today. She talked candidly about her breast cancer and her Grammy Award show performance. She looked great and sounded even better. Here's a link of the text of the interview and some pictures. It was really good. Lauri

Too bad I missed it...I have been working on a report for work, plus watching Desparate Housewives and shoveling 6" of snow and taping the SNL show...what's a girl to do!

I did read a short article in People about her, it mentioned she had a lumpectomy 2X, chemo and now rads. She is finished with chemo now. I am really in awe of anyone that can take such a personal story to such a public level.

Definitely an inspiration! Thanks for the update, Lauri.

I truly admire her for what she has done. She has brought to the forefront just what my "True Faces" web page was trying to say. Just like I wrote, "It needs to be in the face." She has shown the TRUE face of breast cancer. She has put it "in the face". Hopefully some change as to how "society" views breast cancer will be reflected in her courage. We are making steps AND we WILL get there. God bless her for her efforts. Blessings to you all.

Breast cancer has become an epidemic. After all of the these years and billions of dollars donated for research...WHERE IS THE CURE???

I saw Melissa this morning on the today show. It was part of last nights interview. She looks wonderful and sounded so strong. So glad she went public with her journey and that she is doing well.

Saw both programs. I thought she would be on the Today show since Matt Lauer did the interview and purposely put it on. It was great to see her speak so clearly about breast cancer. And I really thought she looked glowingly beautiful. Bless her for being so open about it all. Hugs MK

I was truely inspired by her.  I realize just how fortunate I have been.  We were diagnosed about the same time, but my chemo has been a breeze compared to hers.  She is courageous to have gone out in public bald.  And, she looks fantastic!  Hooray for her.
