Hi gals,
As most of you know, I had a "Recall" on my mammo on Friday.  I thought it was for the spot they thought they saw on the BC side, but it wasn't.  It was the other side.  After 3 "spot compressions", they finally came back and said they didn't know what they were seeing, but it was gone.  But because of my history I am to go back in 6 months for another mammogram.
It was then on to the surgeon, who will get me referred to the plastic surgeon, etc, etc and eventually we will get an appointment set up.  I told her probably not till after mid May cause of baby, work ,etc.
THEN because DS had called early am to say they were on their way to the hospital, I headed on east planning to be in St Cloud, MN by evening.  But OH NO - had a tire blow out about 120 miles down the road.  My car had earlier told me I had a low tire, but when I took it to the Buick dealer after my Dr appointment, I was told "they don't look low, so we will just reset the sensor."  OH am I mad.  Anyway because of all that I didn't get to St Cloud till this am.  Spent the night in Fargo, ND with my youngest DS, got a new tire today and came on over.
At 10:33 last night Aiden Daniel Monke was born weighing in at 8lb 14 oz and 20 inches long.  Both mom and dad are exhausted as was little Aiden all day today, but I enjoyed holding, feeding, and cuddling him.  Left them at the hospital and came to their house tonight.  He is so precious, I am going to hate having to leave tomorrow.  It was a long, hard day and evening for all of them too.  Thank goodness for digital cameras and email so I can get picture updates often.  We will be back in two weeks to see him again, when I get my vacation. ha  DH has called about 5 times to make sure everything is ok.  Think it is bothering him more than he thought that he couldn't come now. LOL
Just wanted you to know how Friday was, and hopefully tomorrow's long drive of 8 hours will be better. Tearful, but without car problems.  Good thing I am by myself, I can cry all the way home if I want to.
Grandbabies are the most precious thing there is I have decided.

Congrats Kitty on both the good news from the mammo and your new grandson! I would venture to guess that these 2 outweighed the bad that happened. Thank heavens that you didn't wreck your car when you had the blowout. Afraid that I would be at the dealership on Mon that told me everything was fine. grrrrrrr I have 3 granddaughters and will have my first grandson in June. I am fortunate that we all live in the same town. And I have to agree, grandchildren are the most precious gift we can ever receive. Be careful on your way home.

Your car trip sounded real scarey. I can't imagine being by myself and having the tire blow out like that. So thankful that you didn't get into an accident over that one.
I am sure that it was all worth it though, especially when you looked at that dear little baby. Aren't grandchildren just the BEST? He is going to bring you so much enjoyment Kitty.........and to think, you will have this double fold in a few months. AHHHHHHHHHHH, gotta love those little ones.

Boy would I be angry with that garage. I would let them know in no uncertain terms what I missed because of their stupidity..... Oh just let me vent!!!! Congratuations on the birth of the grandson. You have now joined the ranks of "grandmotherhood" one of the greatest clubs in the world. Yes, it is hard to leave them when they are so little and sweet, but later on one of the perks of being a grandma is that you can spoil them and let the parents deal with the bad behavior. LOL. My friend, Stella, and I took my two grandchildren yesterday on a trip for Stella to see some of the Texas local history, dinosaur tracks and then we drove through a Wildlife Park where animals come to your car to be fed, etc. We had a great day but were dragging last night and even yet today. We are sitting and reading or knitting all day today. Rest day only.

Now, about that mammogram. I am thrilled you came out so well on that score. Wonder what made the mark on the film in the first place? My spot was visable I could see it, but it was not really different from last year's films. Breathing a sigh of relief for both of us.

Hope you made it home okay.  I'd definately call that garage, or maybe call the BBB.  That wasn't safe.  Here, now, the car won't pass inspection if a warning light is on.
Congrats, Grandma!!!!!  Enjoy that little bundle!

Congrats on the grandson, the good news and the excellent driving skills.  So glad you weren't hurt and could be there to hold that baby.  I'm sure you were on cloud nine!  but you get in touch with that dealership and give 'em heck.  No one should have to go through that after taking their car in to take care of the problem.  did they even check the tire pressure or just "eye-ball" it?
Have fun with that little one!

That is the problem, they did just 'eye-ball' the tire.  That is what makes me so mad.  DH said we will write them a letter.

Thanks for the good wishes from you and everyone.

Love, Kitty
