My daughter has been going through some testing to see why in over a year she has not gotten pregnant. (Husband was already tested and he is fine) Last Tues, she was to have a scope with dye inserted to look at the cervix and tubes, and they could not for some reason get it inserted more than a tiny bit. It is like they were hitting something. Of course this really upset her and although she knows it is probably not something serious, she still thinks of her G-ma having passed from Cervical cancer and the breast cancer risks she has. She was in tears and so upset. sad   So today I am taking her in again so they can try again. Her gyn usually does not do these himself anymore but as a special favor he is as his nurse is my daughter's MIL. God, I hope it goes ok. If not, he will do a hysteroscopy and lapraoscopy(?) next month. Hopefully that won't be needed. So please, send out prayers for her. It is in two hours (3:30 pm pst) and her name is Joy. Thank you all so much, you are good friends! L&H, Gail

I don't know if this helps, but sometimes if your uterus is tipped they have a hard time with the scopes. I hope thats all it is. I went through secondary infertility myself. My children are now 14 , and 21 months.Laproscopy , and hysterscopy are really not that bad. They can gain alot of information from those test. I know this is an emotional time for your daughter, and will be praying for her.

I hope everything went smoothly and that Joy can get some clear answers.

I hope everything turns out ok. My youngest daughter and her husband had infertility problems. It is difficult for the whole family with disappointments and all the hope of each treatment. I hope if there is a blockage of some sort it can be remedied easily. I will keep you all in my prayers. It is hard on Moms, too. Hugs MK

sending prayers that all goes well, Gail. Good grief, our daughers need to be spared some of the heartbreak we have known to well. Hugs, Lauri

Gail, I went through some of that myself. After three years of taking my temperature, charting my cycles, and being disappointed monthly, I had a laparoscopy. They found the problem (in my case, endometriosis), and put me on hormones to shut my system down for 9 months. It worked, and I have two wonderful, healthy kids.

My uterus is also tipped, but not at the angle that they usually find. I don't think that's a fertility issue, but it may interfere with diagnosis, as Michelle said.

Stay hopeful, lots can be done!

Gail, I know the procedure has already been completed, but I will have you and your daughter in my prayers.

Gail,  I know I'm very late but I've just read the board this morning for the first time since Friday.

I'm hoping the dr. has found an answer for Joy and her DH.  Glad you went with her for the procedure.  Please tell her she's on my prayer list.  Sending BOTH of you special hugs, Luci
