DH and I are leaving tomorrow on our cross-country odyssey.  We're doing the southern route out - so we can eat in Corky's BBQ (those of you who know me may remember how very much I like BBQ.  MK and Jo-Ann, remember Dallas?)  Then it's on to Graceland.  How could we not visit Elvis while we're in the neighborhood.  Nashville after that and to Asheville, NC to see Vanderbilt House.  DH has other things planned like the Painted Desert, White Sands in Alamagordo, Roswell, NM and the Oklahoma City Memorial.
After NC we'll start meandering north toward NJ and the wedding on July 3.  We expect to arrive there around June 29.
So, I'm taking my laptop with me.  Can't miss anything here.  I can't possibly write the wonderful travelogues that Lauri does.  When I see interesting things though, I'll post.
We're expecting to be back here in NV around July 12 or 13 - returning by the northern route, through Cleveland (Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and of course, Cathi) and then on west and south.  Should be fun trip.  We've always wanted to do something like this, but DH was working and I was either teaching or dealing with BC.  So now is the moment....
More news later.  L&H's, Luci

Sounds fabulous to me. How lucky you are that your DH is eager and willing to go places like that. When we drove anyplace it was a race to get there and get home with minimum bathroom and fast food stops. Not fun at all. I really envy you. Have a wonderful trip and watch out for those other crazy drivers. Have a safe trip and report in. I have wanted to see so many of the places you mentioned. I really am green with envy. Love and hugs MK

Luci- Sounds like a grand plan! Enjoy yourselves, and may you have nice weather, good food and plenty of clean rest areas. HA!

I envy you, Luci. It sounds like a wonderful trip. There's a festival every year in Roswell but I can't remember when, just know that it's in the summer. Coming into Roswell is neat, too. There's a prison there and a sign that says: "Do not pick up hitchhikers".

You will enjoy the Asheville, NC, area. Mitchell and I would go there whenever we could.

Please remember to check in. We wouldn't want to embarrass you by having the internet police arrest you during the wedding.

Love, Jo-Ann

Thanks for the compliment, Luci. May you and Barry have a wonderful trip and many adventures. I look forward to hearing about what you see and do. The Oklahoma City Memorial is very moving. Safe travels, my friend. H&L, Lauri

So, Luci, dear lady

How about coming east of Asheville and visiting me!!! It's only about a four hour drive - I-40 East and I-85 North. I'm a mile and 4/10ths off of 85 or better yet come and visit on your way back from Jersey!!! You just take 95 south to 85 south - probably six hours. I'm more or less taking off from the 4th to the 6th. This is a serious invite. Would love to entertain you and Barry.

Have BIG fun on the trip and drive safely.

Love, Glenda

Oh, Love the itinerary!  Painted desert is something I've wanted to see!  Do enjoy!
You'll be up in our neck of the woods, but it won't work out this time, I'll be on a boat somewhere.....  Let's do think of each other!  Gosh I need a laptop
Have a great time!
