As I walked the track at the local Relay for Life. There was a luminaria "In honor of Healingwell sisters" and another "In memory of Breast Friends." I thought of all of you as I walked the quarter-mile track during the survivor's lap. The weather held for us despite a prediction of an inch of rain. The event raised more than $37,000 for the American Cancer Society. It was fun to see a friend whom I have not talked to in many years. She is a 7-year breast cancer survivor. She told me that she did the Komen 60 mile walk in the Twin Cities with her daughter and daughter in law.  The three of them raised $12,000. Every year I think that I will be able to do this event dry-eyed, but after 10 years, the tears still come as I listen to the speaker and walk among the luminarias. Now, if they could just find a cure so there will be no more need for walks like this. Hugs and love, Lauri

Thanks for taking us with you, Lauri. I got tears in my eyes just thinking of you walking that lap with tears in your eyes, reminding me of the lap in Louisville and all that has passed since. It was great you saw an old friend you hadn't been in touch with, too. Too often we lose track of friends who have meant so much to us in our lifetime. And I know I don't keep in touch with relatives that mean a lot like I should, either. Today is a good day for reflection and prayers for all our sisters here and beyond. Hugs MK

Walking through the lights lets all of us know there really is hope. Those who are with us now and those who have gone on without us will always bring tears to our eyes. A very heart-felt "Thank You", Lauri, for honoring us with your walk. We love you.

Many Hugs, Jo-Ann

PS - Even if there is a cure, we will still walk, walk on into extinction that we are the last of the victims. That's one walk none of us would want to miss.
