Hi everyone.  I just got back from treatment and onc. visit.  This past week I have noticed that the recurrence area was beginning to swell again.  We found this new recurrence the end of May.  Was put on taxol and had a great response.  After three treatments, we could no longer feel the swollen node.  I was switched to Abraxane, supposed to be better.  I did 5 treatments and found this week my neck was beginning to get puffy again.  Doc checked and immediately took me off abraxand and back to taxol.    Next week was supposed to be my week off.  Now its back to decadron, benedryl, blah, blah, blah.  No more 1 hour in and out.  Oh well, I am praying for that same great response.  If not, its onward ho to the next chemo.  Have a great weekend ladies.

Vicky- So sorry to hear this, but it sounds like the dr. is doing right by going back to taxol, since that worked so well before ... i am wishing you an easier time ahead. hang in there, we're all with you.... i know it's so dissapointing to hear 'more chemo' when you want/need a break ... when they increased my plan by about 3 months i was SO down...but you'll get thru it.

many hugs,

So sorry about the new meds not working as well. Hope going back to the tried and true will.

I'm glad you're going back on something you had such a good response to.  I'm praying and hoping here that you resume your good response.
Thanks for everything!

Vicky: I am so sorry to hear that the new med didn't work. At least you had a good response from the taxol and it was still an option for you to take. I know how difficult it is to accept more chemo. I have been on weekly chemo for almost 2 yrs now and when I get a break from the Navelbine, it is like a big gift. Then, usually about 3-4 wks, when my CEA count goes up, I have to go back on the Navelbine and it is such a downer. Hang in there. Please watch the neuropathy. My onco was very conscious about this and would stop the taxol for a couple of weeks to let my feet and fingers have a chance to get back to normal.

Hang in there. It is worth it!
