have been having a pain in the ass time with some swelling in my arm and pain in that arm/shoulder.  Here is a little info on what I have been doing the past week:  (this was from Friday)

Today I was supposed to have chemo.  Doctor took one look at my arm (I thought it was lymphadema).  He thought not.  He was sure it was a blood clot to the superior vena cava or an obstruction.  He sent me for a Superior Venacava gram.  It was pretty easy, but I had to have an IV in that arm.  Then lie down and they inject a contrast and watch for a blockage.  At first the doctor thought I had stenosis from previous radiation.  But upon talking with my doctor, they determined that it was the lymph node cluster tumor at the clavicle pressing on the vein.  They spoke of opening up the vein with a balloon, but the doctor doing the test wouldnt put iin a stent.  If no stent, the tumor would just press again on the vein.  So, my doc put me on coumadin, gave me a shot of lovenox (sp).  And I will continue with the doxil on Monday.  We are hoping for some shrinkage so that some of the pressure is released and maybe the swelling of my neck and arm goes away.  He is having me cancel the lymphadema clinic, he said this wasnt lymphadema

I was able to have my chemo yesterday (Monday).  I have to go today for a Neulasta shot, white counts have not been rising too much after treatment.  I have an appointment with a radiation oncologist tomorrow to see if radiation is a possibility in shrinking this thing.  I have had radiation to the breast area, so we do not know if the collar bone area is too close to original radiated area.

I do pop in to read your posts, but the arm is so sore, that I do not post to all.

Happy Holidays everyone!

I have been thinking about you.  I'm glad you told us.  I'm praying that the thing shrinks.  You must be really scared right now, but the Vicky I met is tenacious and brave.  Time will pass, our prayers will work, and this will be  behind you.  I'm really glad the doc figured it out.  Maybe you can shrink the thing.
Your boys, the big one too, I'm sure, are babying you to a tee.  I hope they are, anyway.  If they're not, tell me and I'll drive my new RAV-4 up their buts!!!!!

I will be praying that radiation is the answer and will give you relief soon. Like Ellen said take it easy and let those boys take care of you.

I will keep you in my prayers and hope this tumor shrinks away. You need to rest and enjoy not doing anything (easy for me to say, I know). Please keep us posted and let me know if there is anything I can do since I'm not too far away!

Hi Vicky

I think of you often. I am sorry to hear about this new tumor. I hope they can radiate it and that
it will shrink and not cause any more trouble.

Please keep us posted.

I'm so sorry you are going through all this.  I am confident the radiation will do the trick.  Stay strong!  I know it's hard, but what is the alternative?  You can do it!

Vicky I am sorry I am just getting around to answering your post. I hope by now you have some answers and some relief. It sounds like the doctor's are working hard to find those answers for you. I certainly hope 2006 will be a better year for you and you can get this behind you quickly. Hugs and prayers, MK
