Hi Ladies,I am going to ask my onc. for a pet scan.What does the Test involve?  Tammy

Hi Tammy: The PET scan isn't a difficult test. You will have to have a radioactive dye injected and wait about 30 mins for it to get into your system. Then you will go in and lay on the table for about 30 mins while the machine scans your body. I think the most difficult part for me was laying still for that amount of time.

Hi Deb,I have a lump on right side under my ribcage.Dont you think i should ask for a pet scan? Tammy

What does your onco say about the lump? Has he/she ordered any tests? Is it large enough for a biopsy to be done? I don't think a pet scan would hurt.
