and I think it's caused by pink ribbon overload.  Or maybe it's the approach of Halloween, and all the ghoul's are out.  What's with all the trash???  Hair extensions.  Geez, we lost our BREASTS, for gosh sakes, and they think we just can't wait for our hair to get long enough for extensions???  Please!
I don't mean to dismiss the initial trauma of hair loss, but we've all been there and done that and lived through it, some of us more than once.  And I think most of us would be happy to live hairless if we could just know that this darned disease wasn't going to get us in the end.  And I would have been bald now a pretty long time, but it would have been worth every minute of it, not to have to go through all those tests, time and again, knowing that the phone could ring with bad news at any time.  I would have loved JoAnnie's and Peggy's and Mel's and Becky's and Lauren's and Julie's and Rainey's and Shelley's and (the list goes on and on and on)'s little bald heads forever if they could have just stayed with us.
Sorry for the rant.  I just couldn't dignify those posts with a direct response, but couldn't ignore them, either.  So sad that so many people just don't get it.
Love and hugs,

Sorry I didn't read it because Peter had been here and cleaned up another post so I figured he had checked it out and it was ok. I'll check it now. And I agree with you, I would love to see all those lovely bald heads and a couple more. Leah comes to mind from the Louisville trip. How beautiful she was bald. Recently Jenn's family sent out some great pictures of her in Memory of her death a year ago. She was gorgeous, too. So sad.

Maybe we were in a full moon? Seems that brings out the strangest beings or as you say Halloween is getting closer.

Hugs to you. Bev.

Darn, MK got to the post before I could read it. I already have extensions but they are now going to look pretty funny since I am going bald all by myself. We just never get to have fun here with snake oil salesmen and their like.

I, too, can see all of my beloved sisters, bald or not, and know that whatever jumps in our way, we shall beat it down.

I think we need to check the phase of the moon and the tide schedules. There has to be a reason for this idiocy.

Love to you, Jo-Ann

well I for one just love it. For a change its not me on a rant. You go ladies. If there is one thing I love its when everyone gets on a rant and leaves me nothing to complain about. Shhhhhhh do not tell anyone. They will never believe I can not find something. Bev thanks for taking that one. Only sad part is.... you are so right about all those wonderful bald heads we loved so much.
How wonderful it would be to see Angels where there are only clouds. How sad it would be to see clouds where there are Angels.

Jo-Ann, I'm sorry. The hair goddess may have been able to help you out. Might have given you a head of hair, long beautiful hair, shinin', gleamin', streamin' flaxen, waxen. Or, if you're interested, my hubby is growing his hair out to donate. I'd be more than happy to lop it off tonight and send it to you! He looks something akin to the wild man from borneo when it's down. I make him put it in a pony tail, and let me tell you...Steven Segal would be jealous of that hank of hair!

I miss you posting, girl. And I did catch your reply to "the study." Good thing we have MK's watchful eye around here. She's an expert at spotting the ooze of snakeoil dripping from a post, isn't she?

And Joyce...what good is a rant if friends don't join in? That's what friends are for! all you ladies!

Y'know? I think I can sence when these posts are around.  I tend to gloss over the board at those times.  I haven't been tending to posts as much lately, and now I realize why.  I get so turned off when the crap flies.
One of the worst pictures I have of myself is with a wig.  Not only do I look cheap and fake with it on, I am reminded of the disease every time I look at the picture.  What a terrible need to have had at that time.  The true beauty was in Leah, who I was fortunate enough to room with in LV.  I remember coming back to the room from a jaunt and seeing that beautiful bald head on the loveseat, veging.  She was great!
