I got a clean bill!
I had it done at Beth Israel.  The sono was stressful at first because there's an area sort of near the scar that feels strange and hurts when the wand went over it.  We got the doc in there to look, they mumbled to each other about it then they said they didn't see anything and to wait for the Dilon scan.  Of course I started thinking 'maybe they did see something but didn't want to worry me.....they can't really do that can they......well, maybe they didn't see anything.......well, maybe they didn't want to worry me....' I was a little bit of a nutcase. They told me the reason they were doing it was because I was concerned about the area.  It was SUCH a relief to see a clear area when the Dilon was done, with no spots.
Dilon is the name of the manufacturer.  It's actually a gamma scan.  They inject you with  nuclear stuff and then the scan definitively picks out cells that have a higher metabolic rate than normal breast cells, which cancer cells do.  The MRI doesn't scan intracell activity, just anatomic info comes through with that.  I was VERY impressed with it.
It didn't hurt either.  The squeeze is nothing.  I could see it and got the results right there.  $500 was worth it (especially when my medflex account needed a receipt or I would have lost that money!!!!!).  My insurance company is really dumb.  This is a wonderful relief

Oh Ellen, it is GREAT to hear the good news! I certainly agree that $500 would be well worth the peace of mind! I am doing the "happy dance" for you!

Ellen, what wonderful news.  Now relax and enjoy life.  God is good.
