that I had my last chemo. I haven't posted much in a while but I still come here and read and see how evryone is doing. I'm so glad I have made it through this, and I still can't believe that I have breast cancer. eyes   I had a mammo a couple of weeks ago only on the infected breast and everything was fine. I go in another 6 months to get both done then it will only be once a year. The hotflashes have been horrible, I'm still dealing with neuropathy (sp?), I get very achy while sitting at my desk at work, mostly in my hips. The best thing that will hopefully come out of this is that once I stop the Zoladex shots my period won't come back. It's been nice for the last year not having one due to the shots, but the Onc seems to think it won't come back once they stop giving me the shot which should be in September next year.
My hair is finally about 4 inches long, I still don't have eyebrows, my eyelashes go thru thinning periods, have been shaving my armpits about every 2 months, the hair on my legs sometimes grows fast and sometimes it doesn't. I don't think I have shaved my legs in about 2 weeks now and it doesn't need shaving now.
Like someone else said, "the disease that keeps on giving".
I wish everyone a very Happy and safe New Year and hope that everyone had a great Christmas/Holiday (for those that don't celebrate Christmas). And that we continue to stay in touch even though it may not be often. You ladies have been great and I'm glad to have met you.

Congrats from me also on your one-year mark. Don't be a stranger here, others need your advice to get through their journey with this dreaded disease. Isn't it amazing how talking to those that have been through it is such a big help and inspiration.

Congratulations on 1 year post chemo.  Glad things are growing!  LOL  I seem to recall it took about a year, maybe not quite, that I needed a regular trim on my hair.  It takes a while to get back to 'normal'.  Glad things are going well and don't be a stranger.

Kathy, Congratulations on your 1 year anniversary. As Deb mentioned your news is a great inspiration to all those that are just starting thier journey. It is so good to hear from you and here is to another year times, at least, 20.

2006 was my 7-year mark, and my hair is thinner everywhere even now (good news for the legs and pits, not so good for the head). My eyelashes are the closest to being the same as before, yay!! Also don't need to tweeze my eyebrows anymore. Unfortunately, I have a little more of a mustache, but that could be related to age and chemo-induced menopause. Fortunatly, the hair on my face is mostly blonde, LOL....

Happy anniversary!! Enjoy each year as a new milestone and take pride in how far you;ve come! My hair returned exactly as it was before, each and every strand, whether on my face or head or legs...So much for small favors!

Happy Anniversary!!! I had three hairs come back under my one arm and none in the other. My leg gets a few that grow according to the weather. Just when you think they quit they start again and catch me sleeping with a few marathon long hairs on my legs. I only got half my eyebrows back. I look like a spaniel now. Eyelashes used to be long, and now they are hard to see. But I am sure if I put my mind to it I could grow a beautiful moustache. LOL I always say the good news is we survived long enough to start complaining. Happy Anniversary! Joyce

Great to see you posting again and a very happy anniversary to you. Im so glad that you have your hair back, I thought it would never grow. Mine is to my shoulders and still curly. Did you get lots of curls? My eye brows are still very thin and my lashes go thru thinning stages still. The hair on my legs and underarms is very thin.....YEAH. I hate to shave. I guess ther is a silver lining in everything if you just look.

I know how you feel about the aches and pains, I have terrible hip, back and leg pains. If I sit for too long my feet and legs feel like lead when I get up. Thank goodnes I don't get to sit for long at work, I would look funny standing half way up like a 90 year old.

Take care and Happy New Year!

My hair came back really curly at the front and the back. But since it is a little longer now it's not as curly. I need to get it cut. I haven't had my first cut yet and debating whether or not to get a perm.

Congrats!  It seems like only yesterday you were posting about the dx.  I'm so glad you had the board to help you.  My hair is still short, but has been curlier.  Lately, though, it's gone flat.  Don't know what's up with that.  I've been thinking of growing it a little.  I'm thinking Dorothy hammel.
