Well, I went to see a surgeon yesterday. He said that my lump is definitely a lymph node because of the kidney bean shape and size of 6mm. He said it is not in my breast tissue. I asked why the Radiologist said it was "probably" benign then. He said, which now I have heard so many times, they have nothing to compare it to. I was like you don't either!! He told me I could opt to have a biopsy but it would come back fine because it is just a lymph node. So he said I should wait the 6 months for a re-check. I really don't know how I feel about that appt. He says benign, Radiologist says probably. I did find the name of 2 breast surgeons/specialists out of 2 different, very fine hospitals in the city. This surgeon was not a specialist. I am thinking I will see a specialist for a final opinion. I figure it couldn't hurt, right? Any opinions?
Joeyx if you are around....hang in there!! Hope you are doing well this evening. Take good care and keep us posted  :-)

By all means, see a specialist. It may be nothing, but then again it could be something and if it is in a lymph node then it could be moving in the lymphatic system. Does your doctor not consult with other doctors? In my experience, my doctors called specialists to ask their advice and help right while I was in the office. My plastic surgeon who is one of the best in the city called infectious disease dr when I had a bad infection, a trauma specialist to ask about an IV, a radiologist to help with treatments and on and on. I don't understand why doctors just want to wait and see. We haven't run this question through lately, but you can always ask the doctor, if a male, "Is this what you would want for your wife or daughter? Wait six months and check again?" I think not. But then again 6 mm is really very small. I don't know how they could see a shape of a kidney that small, unless it was magnified quite a bit. I really would rather know than wait, anyhow. Hugs MK

Thanks MK...........I am hoping now with seeing a specialist I will get the quality of care I deserve, not just the brush off. I again appreciate everything from everyone, it has made me feel more secure about pursuing this. Will keep everyone updated, I will be calling to schedule an appt later this morning.

smurf I'm sorry, this smurf cracks me up!!  :-)
