I am currently awaiting an ALJ hearing from social security disability. I have fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrom. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to win my case? Or, does anyone know the percentages of approval/disaproval for these illness for disability?

I'm not sure where you live, but in Canada most disability claims are denied on the first try, but we can apply 3 times. If they still deny the claim, we have some good lawyers who have taken the case to court for a reasonable charge.

My application for CPP disability was accepted on the first try. I had documented evidence from my GP and a psychiatrist. When you're filling out the application, be very thorough and extreme.

Hope this helps.

afterglo, I am also in Canada, and considering applying for CPP. I am totally confused with the whole process though. Do you have any pointers for me? Can you work and receive CPP?
I would like to keep working atleast part-time, but can't afford the part time wages.
Current Meds: Cymbalta, Codeine Contin, Tylenol3, Tramadol.
Diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in March 2008 but suffering about 7 yrs.
