Just found out I have EBV and my doctor told me that I needed to get lots of rest and build up my immune system. But did not give me any guidence as to how. I get overwhelmed with all the different information online. Everyone wants you to buy their products. I would like to hear from real people their experience and what has worked. I have a list of things I'm taking now, but not sure if it's not enough to if I'm missing something.

Vitamins:

Vitamin D 10,000IUs a day

Folate 1,600 mcg a day

Vitamin B6 100mg liquid form a day

Vitamin B12 shots once a week

Organic Life Vitamins (Multi Vitamin liquid form) a day

Iodine Complex 12.5mg a day

Prescriptions:

Tramodol 50mg 1-2 a day

Cymbalta 30mg a day

Other things are as needed, such as anxiety medicine, nausia medicine, also something stronger for pain.

I am also waiting on more test results to see if I have CMV, and some other stuff. I won't know until later in the week though.

I think whats best is not being on any medications at all.your liver is apart of your immune system.putting meds in ur body especially anxiety meds depress your liver.therefore weaking immune system.thats what im going to work on.getting off meds.bcus

My Mum swears by vit C and zinc to build immunity. I don't know in what doses but any time I feel a cold coming on I swallow zinc and vit C and often I don't catch it! Theres also echinacia, which tastes really foul but is suppose to be good for the immune system. I'm sure your pharmacist would help give advice.
Hope that helps, golitho

Hey,

Echinacea is the best one for me. It is an immune booster which you can take for up to 8 weeks I think. I'm currently taking it to keep a cold away that my family have (10 days and I've not caught it yet!)

Someone above is also right - the liver needs to be looked after too. You can take milk thistle to aid it in dealing with toxins and support it and that should help it cope too.

Hope you get lots of rest and feel better soon x
