Do any of you get where you are so sore and tired physically but then when you lay down you can't mentally sleep. Like your tired but can't shut your head off because you sleep alot? aka I guess insomnia, yet your exhaused?

My Internal Disease Specialist just told me he thinks this (CFS) is what I have. Tired, sore, 100-102 fever, night sweats, sore throat, and the like. Just general overall not feeling good for over a year. It seems like this is a pretty good diagnosis from all that I have read recently, although he wants to do body image scanning first to be sure (idk what this is, do any of you). Anyways, I just wondered about that insomnia thing... I just don't understand how I am so exhausted but can't sleep if this is CFS. I could be wrong, or just stressed though. IDK. Thanks for taking the time to read this, I am so tired of being sick and want and answer. I miss being me and being able to do stuff without being so tired and spending more time with my kiddies without being so exhausted easily. I'm sure you understand. Good luck to all of you out there too. shocked

Get the scan done.. that rules out a ton of other stuff. He is just being thorough. After that ask for a sleep study test. i all three of my specialist thought i ws having sleeping problems that were actual pain problems which i would not have known if not for the study. i am super tired so sorry if the type is off or whatever. Busy brain at night that is a classic and we must be related... i can feel beat hit the pillow and the mind is racing. I honestly believe that is more a personality type than a problem. Thinkers think. I have found keeping to a schedule to the best of my ability is huge. and a routine at night... teeth floss, hug dogs, give them bones, hugs to the cats, pray quietly to myself. i wake up a ton, due to pain but i put my meds handy. routine helps. I am sorry if this isn't making any sense Verytired.

So keep us posted and I am not a dr.

may you always find a way to let a bit of joy in.

with healing thoughts and prayers,

Siana

Sickmomma, It is nice to meet you.  I can really relate to your symptoms, they are all some of mine.  I was dx'd with CFS in 2006 & have  been working with my Dr's, through trial & error, to ease my sleeping issues.  I can have insomnia that lasts for days & then when I sleep I can't stay asleep & wake up often.  Now I take tizanadine (a muscle relaxer) that helps me to go to sleep & Trazadone which helps me stay asleep.  With CFS we lose the ability to get into good REM sleep & then beyond into the healing sleep.  That is why we have such unrefreshing sleep.  I took melatonin for quite awhile & that help me to go to sleep, you might talk to your Dr about it.  I still needed something to keep me asleep but I could get to sleep.  The Center for Disease Control has a very up to date site on CFS & it is full of good, accuate information.  This is such a hard illness to have & I hope you find you have something curable.  Many warm hugs, Denise

I too have trouble sleepy even though I am completely exhausted. I'm very afraid to take sleep aids, so I take a Benadryl at night. It kicks in in about 20 minutes and is not habit forming. I also have weird sinus symptoms since getting sick with CFS last year, and this helps clear them up a bit so I can sleep. Hope your sleep improves. I know what it's like to be a sick momma! :(
