It took me several months to figure out what to do about my chronic fatigue. The highlights are:
Fluoride sits in your pineal gland, slowing down melatonin production. If you stop sleeping, you'll never recover.
I avoided fluoride like the plague for a full month-no toothpaste, distilled water for bathing and hair washing, and found a bottled water with 7.0 ph. Its in alberta canada, called monashee. Before I found it, I was drinking 6.4 ph distilled, RO, ect and I wasn't getting better. (soon we won't have fluoride added to our tap water, so I'll save some money).Btw, I was developing fibro. After I stopped fluoride, and raised my ph, it disappeared!
Then I slowly went on the raw food diet. First couple weeks I was 60-80%, eating fish and eggs for protein. Then as I got to 95-98% my PH went up to 6.6. (my lowest was 4.5 yikes! That was when I was just diagnosed.) After 6 weeks, I may be able to be 99% because my taste for junk has changed. It tastes too salty or too sweet.
And lastly is sleep hygiene. At 8 oclock, all our lights are turned off, only candles and sometimes the computer screen. By 9 oclock, you start producing melatonin. By 9:30, be in bed. From 10-12 oclock, your liver does magnificent work. If you aren't sleeping at that time, it doesn't happen. When I don't get to bed in time, or sleep in the next day, my ph drops! Sometimesd as low as 6. Sleep is everything for recovery. And be up by 7. EVERY morning. (eventually, you will sleep at 10, and 9 hours in bed is plenty!) Even if you don't sleep. Eventually, you will be so exhausted by 6, you will need to get ready for bed. |If you have any questions, please ask. I wish someone could have told me all this, instead of experimenting over and over. Also feel free to look at my blog about my experience. You will recover after you understand what to look for!

I get my best sleep from 8am-1:00pm. It sucks! I am interested in seeing your blog but I don't see how to get there. Please help. Is there spmething I can do if I can't find 7.0 distilled water in the US? Where can I get non flouride toothpaste, etc... I know that there is something going on with flouride at least for me. I always get phlegm in my throat after brushing my teeth or using mouth wash. I never got that before I was sick. I get it with certain sweets as well.

BTW, how long did you have CFS?

Thanks for your help!

Fluoride also messes with the thyroid.  It's my belief that fluoride is largely responsible for hypothyroidism.  The only water filter that can remove it without replacing the fluoride with aluminum is reverse osmosis.  This is unfortunate, because reverse osmosis water lacks necessary minerals.  I get fluoride free toothpaste at my local healthfood store in the U.S.  There are several differerent kinds--just read the labels.  I'm highly allergic to most regular toothpastes.

Hi Lyme 14,
Has getting rid of the fluoride in your toothpaste helped you?

Thanks for your reply in advance.

Hi Sylviasix,

The change in toothpaste improved the allergy I was having.  With regular toothpaste, my lips would bleed and tear all over, and now they don't.  I can't say the toothpaste alone made a substantial difference in my energy level, but unfortunately, I have not yet made the switch to fluoride-free water.  I didn't realize my city was fluoridating the water until I got the most recent water report.  I want to switch to a reverse osmosis filter, and re-mineralize the water after filtration, but I don't know which filter to get yet.  I believe that when I do make the switch, it should improve my Hashimoto's.

Wow this is quite interesting. My mom seems to have CFS along with other issues. I'll try to get her to read this and see what she thinks. =]
They need to give us fresh tap water. T_T

When my saliva PH was 4.5, my sleep was so bad, I only got a few hours from 4-8 in the morning. But as my PH went up, when it got up to 6.0, my sleep GREATLY improved. When I got up to 6.4, I was sleeping better than I had since I was a child. Actually for the first time in my memory, I slept the whole night without waking even once. I woke up in a panic! I was not used to the night passing without my knowledge.
You can buy PH strips at health food stores or aquarium supply stores.
It may sound trivial to test your urine PH and saliva PH, but it could be the clue to your health. Blood PH must be almost a perfect 7.2. If it drops too much, you die! But your body prevents it by taking alkalinity (calcium, magnesium, potassium, and sodium) from your diet. If your diet is highly acidic (medication, meat, dairy, grains) your body will take alkalinity from your bones and teeth!
'PH Factor' was written by a doctor I think in 1995. It's old information that mainstream doctors still don't acknowledge:/

Sorry sylviasix it took so long to get back to you. I am documenting my progress at http://whatchickstalkabout.blogspot.com/
Water is a huge issue! In the states, they add fluoride almost anywhere. If you can find out they don't add it in your area, then you can just boil the chlorine out, and you have pretty good 7.0 water. Distilled water isn't 7.0. It's always acidic (6.0-6.4). It too made me sick. Most bottled water is low PH as well. It's a hard decision choosing between low PH or fluoride.
I don't use toothpaste. When I wake up, I test my saliva PH. Then I put a little baking soda in my mouth and swish for several minutes. I do this because my saliva is still not the ideal 7.2. So baking soda neutralizes all the acid my teeth were sitting in during the night.
Then I put a drop or 2 of magnesium oil, and peppermint oil. Magnesium oil can be bought at the health food store. Our saliva PH is the most important for our teeth health. 7.2 allows our teeth to re-mineralize, 6.8 and under will make your teeth slowly fall apart. There is so much information out there! don't give up!
