Hi Blondie37,  I have read your posts on the Fibromyalgia forum, I often go there to read posts & see how everyone is doing.

My Rhuemy gave me Provigil for my CFS but I had some real bad side affects so was unable to stay on it.  I have heard that it works well for others & I hope, if you decide to try it, that it will work for you.  My Dr is focusing on my sleep issues & as long as I get good sleep I can function somewhat.  I use Tizanadine (a muscle relaxant) to help me go to sleep & Trazadone to stay asleep.  I have almost lost the ability to go to sleep on my own & will have insomnia for days at a time without some help.  I use Ibuprofen 600 for pain & citalipram 40mg for depression.  I deal with the fatigue & fog on a daily basis & I just received Social Security Disability this last month, this has relieved my stress somewhat & that has helped.  I hope you find the relief you are looking for.

Gentle hugs, Denise

Adderall works real good which is a blend of amphetamine and dextroamphetamine or Dexedrine which is just dextroamphetamine. Dexedrine Spansules are capsules which i thick have 12 hours of time-released beads. also adderall XR is a 8-12 hour timed release capsule. Provigil basically substitutes these two meds. i believe they are very safe especially because low doses work without a tolerance. Wellbutrin SR or XL is a stimulant as strong as Provigil i think. DL-Phenylalanine and N-acetyl-L-Tyrosine are amino-acids that are pre-qursors to adrenaline and dopamine. sample different treatments, you have much to choose from and don't be scared to ask your MD about any treatment.

Provigil worked great for me, but at $300 for 7 pills that my insurance won't cover I was put on Ritalyn, now that isn't available due to FDA regs so I am on Adderall 20 mg 3 x daily.  Waiting for Ritalyn to be available again because Adderall raises my blood pressure.

I have CFS, Fibromyalgia and SLE.

I wonder if you've come across 'the chrysalis effect' This is a wonderful resource to aid recovery. I have been using it myself and am very happy with it, I am also well on the road to recovery.
