Is CEBV Contagious

Does anyone know if reactivations of the Epstein Barr Virus are contagious and if so, for how long? My sister has very premature twins who aren't allowed out of the house (after a 4 month hospital stay). I tested positive (acute) for reactivated EBV last week and I'm wondering how long I should stay away. The cold symptoms have cleared but the exhaustion is hanging on (and from what I've read that's to be expected).

To answer your question, no, it is not contagious... I had a bout for 57 long weeks; and my husband never caught it nor did anyone else who came into contact with me!
