well I went to a neurologist and told him about my problem about words., not being able to finish sentences. He sent me to have memory blood work. and B-12 test, If I am low with B-12 vitamin I could have memory problems.....which I have.......

Then he has me taking a EEG test. They put 23 electrodes go on your head and record what is in your head.

Then he has  referred me to a Neuro Psych.Has anyone been to this type of Doctor before?

Caren, sounds like your neurologist is being thorough & that is good. I have lots of cognitive problems, forgetting words, forgetting what I am saying, forgetting what I am doing. LOL A GP once asked me if I wanted to go to a neuro psych but I didn't feel I needed to because I was sure by that time that it was caused by the CFS & FM. I had just been through an MRI, blood tests & lots of neuro testing so felt comfortable with my decision. I will be interested in what kind of an experience you will have with one. Have you had your vitamin D checked? That can cause some of these same problems. Let me know how your tests come out & how you do with the EEG. Hugs, Denise

Unfortunately cognitive impairment can be a symptom of CFS.   I have it too.  Yesterday in front of a bunch of people at work, I forgot how to use the copy machine!!!  So embarrasing.  I have fibromyalgia too and it's called "fibro fog".  I knew I had trouble when I forgot which was east and west were (always having been very good at directions) and I get my right and left mixed up.  I forget what the word for something simple is, and use "thingy" a lot to describe things.  I am glad your doctor is checking to make sure there is nothing else causing the problem.   Hang in there!  You aren't crazy and we all arent stupid!  I hope you find answers and solutions.  wink

I think the neuropsych is the one who can measure your cognitive issues and better identify which areas are more affected. Hope your appointment goes well.

Caren, it is good your tests came back normal but it is so frustrating to time and time again have normal results. Have you been to a Rheumy? I can't remember if you have said but they seem to really know the most about FM & CFS. I have gone to a neurologist in the past & he didn't know much about Fibro or CFS. Because of my cognitive problems, he sent me for a MRI & everything came back good. He said there was nothing else he could do for me. I hope all goes well with your neuro psyche appointment. What exactly is your doctor hoping to learn from this appointment? Take care, hugs, Denise
