I'm male, 19. Have been suffering from CFS related issues for 9 months already. There was only one day during this period of time when I felt like myself, but it was in the beginning before all the symptoms got nasty. Symptoms include fatigue, sleepiness, brain fog, tingling feelings near cerebral cortex, and sluggish, puffy face. Ruled out almost every possible condition; Sleep study is fine, blood tests are fine, organs work fine, no Lyme, no food-intolerance, no Candida, no Leaky Gut, no infections, thyroid is fine, and I don't suffer from a depression or an anxiety. Have tried bunch of Vitamin supplementation (including CoQ10/D-ribose/PQQ/tons of herbal stuff/B-complex/thyroid supportive pills), Whole food total body cleanse, Anti-depressants, Exercise, Meditation, Raw food diet, etc... None of these seem to relieve any symptom. The only thing that I didn't check out is my brain. I try to make my PCP do MRI test, but she insists that if I don't suffer from seizures and/or headaches, there is no reason I should be targeting the brain. I'm kind of worried with the sensations in my head though. What could be the cause of it? Lack of oxygen? Blood clot? My imagination? What other possible conditions do my symptoms resemble? Thanks in advance

P.S I didn't have any health related concerns prior to this bucket of vague issues.

Hi Constantine4, has your PCP diagnosed you with CFS? Is she still looking into other things. It sounds like you have been given all kinds of tests & like the rest of us nothing was found. It certainly sounds like CFS. I am so sorry you are going through all of this & at such a young age. I was in my late 50's before I came down with it.

I don't know what the problems are that you are having with your head. It may be caused by the CFS or it may be totally separate. This is something you need to keep talking to your doctor about especially if you have a real concern about it. You may need to see another doctor if you don't feel your PCP is listening to you.

The sad thing about this illness is there is no cure and all we can do is keep trying to treat the symptoms. I hope you keep coming back to let us know how you are doing & what you find out. Many hugs, Denise

Hey Constantine4,

You say that you don't have Lyme Disease, how was that ruled out?

It sounds like your PCP is Very thorough, that's a blessing believe me, it's quite possible she can't order an MRI unless she has a diagnosis or at least some symptoms, that's how insurance companies work these days. What she can do is give you a referral to a Neurologist who can order it, a neuro is also who you want treating you with CFS because it not really classified as anything, it can be viral like EBV, it can be auto-immune and a couple others I can't think of right now. Don't give up and don't stop pushing your Dr.'s, your Health is there job. Keep in touch.

I'm an 18 year old girl with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I had all of the same things ruled out with blood tests too. And unfortunately, there was no test that told me and my doctor, oh she has CFS. The only way to come to the diagnosis is a lack of any other diagnosis. I know how frustrating this can be. I almost wanted it to be something else, something definitive, with treatment, a test, and something that people hear and believe me when I say I'm sick.

My rheumatologist put me on provigil after my symptoms continued for months, and it has made a world of difference.
