Hey,

My name is Joden and im 18 years old guy from Australia.  I have been sick for 6months sept could be bit longer its hard to tell, does Chronic fatigue slowly build up on you? cause b4 these 6months of hell I was feeling it abit but it was more off and on thing which seemed normal cause sure your feel bit run down now and then, but what made me think it was bad was i had really bad pains in my groind sometimes like that would make me want to stop what i was doing just crawl up in a ball, so went to doctor he checked it out checked out my testicles which wasnt much fun, got scans done and nothing after that other things started to really effected me like constant dizziness, heart palupations, sleepness, swallon glands, sore throat, muscle pains and list goes on and on so went 2 the doctors about that, got  like a million blood tests nothing showed up, do other people with cfs have high blood pressure? cause my blood pressure is pretty high for my age the doctor said and im a sporty person. so ive been back to the doctors about 5 times over these 6 months and he hasnt really told me much only thing the doctor found out from the blood tests that i had glandluar fever in my system like 3months ago which is now 6 or 7months ago is there a link with glandluar fever and CFS? ok well ive said enuff for now if anyone out there with cfs wants email or if got msn my email is kingjoden@hotmail.com

Hi Joden.

I am a 50 year old guy in Australia also newly diagnosed with CFS, It is my understanding that Epstein Barr Virus (the cause of glandular fever) has been linked by some reseachers to CFS although others deny that they are linked. The problem is that 90% of 30 year old people have antibodies for glandular fever in their blood, the most common age to get glandular fever (with bad symptoms) is in the late teens early 20's. CFS normally has a sudden onset but it can build up gradually. The pain in the groin could be swollen lymph glands? Dont know about high blood pressure but it is something to keep an eye on.

Cheers
Steve

I have had CFS since I was 19 , I am now 20. Nothing showed up in my blood test except for Epstein Barr Virus. Doctors it probably caused or started the conditions for CFS to take over. It really is hell. Hang in there guys
