Hello!!

I usually spend most of my time in the fibromyalgia forum, but I was diagnosed with CF as well and thought I would pop in and introduce myself.

My name is Yvette and everyday of the last 9+ years I have spent exhausted. Some days it is just tired. Other days, like today, I catch myself nodding off at my desk at work. It feels as if my body is falling and my head jerks up. It's awful. Some days I can barely function.

I am so scared that I may one day fall asleep when driving, especially with one of my children in the car. I am currently being treated by a doctor regarding sleep apnea (which I was also diagnosed with a few weeks ago). He has told me that I experience what is called "micro sleep". This is when you are technically awake, but little parts of your brain shut down for a few seconds to rest. This happens when I drive and that I what scares me.

I have one more sleep study and then I will get an APAP machine to help me sleep at night. I am hoping this will help with my constant exhaustion.

Hi there - I spend most of my time on fibro forum also, but think I might have CFS too.

I also spend everyday feeling so whacked out, some days worse than others...It got so impossible with working 4 days a week and 2 small kids, that I had to be signed off work...I also get sore throats and sore glands and tummy troubles with it
Just generally unwell everyday of some sort...Im not sure I get post exertional malaise, which I think is the defining symptom of CFS

i think sleep disorders can sometimes have very similar effects to CFS, i wonder if i have one myself..i too am going to have sleep study soon.

Keep us updated and let us know how you get on - there are lots of friendly people on these forums who know just what your going through and there is lots of useful advice

Keep going and hope you find your answers soon :O)

Yvette please have your physician run the lab tests suggested by dr a Martin Lerner. You may have underlying viral infections as well as bacterial confections. Why do we have CFS/fibro? How do we treat it? Dr Lerner's protocol for physicians is available on his website. FREE!
