I come across this study a few days ago and thought I'd give it a try:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/7018055.stm

I've bought 85% dark chocolate and have been eating some everyday for the past 3 days. Has anybody here tried this? Did it work? How long did it take to work?

I will try anything right now :/ I would like to go back to college full time in September but right now I'm too exhausted to.

Hi there

I am going to try this...hate dark chocolate but will try anything to help.

Have you tried D-Ribose? This helps when Mitochondrial dysfunction is the source...this has helped me somewhat.

Are you in UK? Im in UK and have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia, however, Fatigue is a major factor for me

Let us know how you get on

I have Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (Classical) and fatigue is a symptom of that too :( I am in UK :) I will look up D-Ribose.

I'm just sick of it :( I'm sick of not having a normal life because of this and I'm sick of people calling me lazy because of it.

I know its just horrid isnt it - haven't heard of Ehlers - Danlos Syndrome?

Definitely check out D-Ribose, its a powder and I bought mine off Amazon. Coenzyme Q10 is meant to be great for energy boost also.

I bought the book from fatigued to fantastic - such a great book with loads of ideas, its pretty pricey, but I think you can get it from the library also...D-Ribose is mentioned lots in that book...I have also joined a clinic in London, who sepcialise in CFS ans Fibro and Lyme...Im currently undergoing the nutritional programme there...Whey protein powder has been suggested to me and is also helping
I will ask her about dark chocolate and see what their views are :o)

It's quite rare: http://www.nhs.uk/conditions/ehlers-danlos-syndrome/Pages/Introduction.aspx

Not an awful lot of doctors have even heard of it. Thank you :) <333 that would be great :D I actually just bought D-Ribose off Amazon :) If both of these work then hopefully I'll get better :D

Conspiracy, hi & welcome to the forum. I have been taking dark chocolate for over a year now & have seen improvement in my memory & cognative problems. My brain fog has gone way down & I can think alot better then before. I still have my usual bad days but my good days are better somehow, if that makes sense. Lindt 85% chocolate is what I ate for quite awhile, I have to say I loved them but I love dark chocolate. I needed 12 Lindt bars per month so I decided to look for something cheaper & found Hersheys dark chocolate cocoa powder. I use it in my latte & have a mocha. I have seen no difference between the two as far as how I feel.

The other thing that I have found to help me is CoQ10. It gives me more energy, for me it took about 45 days to really see the effects, I have heard that some people feel the effects in 3 days.

I have tried other suppliments but nothing has helped me like these two things. I hope you see some improvement with them. Hugs, Denise

Thank you <333 I'm so glad to talk to people who understand :) <3 I've bought Green & Black's dark chocolate which is also pretty expensive. I'll give the powder a go when I eat all the chocolate :D

I don't know if I'm just having a good day or not but I feel quite a bit better today :) It's 4:20pm and I would have normally have had a nap by now but I haven't :) I don't feel the need to. I also feel quite happy and positive today which is odd considering it's November (I have Seasonal Affective Disorder too)

I've been buying the Tesco own brand 85% chocolate now :) I actually think it tastes nicer than the more expensive ones.

http://www.tesco.com/groceries/Product/Details/?id=266160990

I don't know if it's the placebo effect or not but I feel much better than before. I'm napping a lot less and I feel like I have more energy :D I eat about 1/3 (sometimes a bit less, sometimes a bit more) of a 100g bar per day.

Obviously it may not work for everyone but I think I'm seeing benefits :)
