Hi,

I am suffering from extreme fatigue since I was 14 and now I'm 45. The fatigue elevates if I concentrate on any cognitive activity, listen to lecture or under stress. However if i take a nap then I feel better. I have following symptoms and can you suggest what I have?

1) Sleep Apnea( Using CPAP machine and it is under control now)
2) High CRP ( above 4.0)
3) Mild Psoriasis
4) Poor concentration
5) Poor short-term memory
6) My sleep is refreshing and there is no Insomnia
7) Depression or low mood , but depression is not huge
8) No muscle pain but if I exercise then my muscle takes bit time to recover
9) Extreme Fatigue and mental fog
10) Heaviness at neck, arms and legs

Thanks
Jim

I assume you have had many blood tests to rule out the real serious stuff?  What treatments have you tried so far?  For me, a combination of Vyvanse, saline IV's and celebrex has worked best for me.  That combo has given me some of my life back in the 3 years I have had CFS.  I can now work FT with this treatment which is huge given the medical bills that come with this ailment.  Other tests to consider is spinal fluid, T cells, and viruses.

Jim, nice to meet you and welcome to the forum. Have you been working with your doctor on this? What does your Dr.think is going on, has he suggested Chronic Fatigue Syndrome? Some of your symptoms certainly do sound like Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, but some of the main ones are missing. For example, the fact that your sleep as it is refreshing and you do not have insomnia, these are two of the main symptoms of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Do you have post exertional malaise? This is also another important symptom. The fact that you can take a nap and feel better is also very telling. My thought is that you need to keep looking. Best of luck to you. I hope you figure it out. There's nothing worse than not knowing. Hugs, Denise

I have questions for Minnesota you mentioned test spinal fluid, t-cells and virus.  I haven't been dx w/CFS however the lack of energy, I have had that for years thought was anemia symptoms.  I was in hosp. earlier this month with pain from HELL!  My Neuro mentioned a spinal tap that never happened which I wasn't looking forward to that but if it will help with a dx.  then test for Virus i'm sure my RA and other dr's the past few years tested me for EBV, I have HSV II some dr's of infectious diseases have studied CFS and assoc w/EBV & HSV II.  sleep if I can for 3+hrs still tired no energy.  Today was a bad day no energy no drive had an errand which I depend on others to take me I can't drive @ this time.  I got home went to the couch next thing it was hours later and I still feel like I could use more sleep I took 3mg clonazepam 2hrs ago and no I can't sleep.  my body is in pain took meds for that too same time.  I just want to be better I know now that isn't going to happen after years of different health issues.  but there has to be something that will help I am so frustrated talking to my husband (who is the greatest) but I guess after 38yrs he sometimes doesn't understand I think I have put a chain around him so he has become numb or like im saying blah blah blah.  sorry for the long post thanks for all your support :-)     Karen
