Hello everyone, hope the new year brings us new hope...I'm usually on the lyme forum but seems I have overcome most of my worst symptoms with natural treatment.  My tinitus is still at top volume though.  The big Problem is the fatigue I experience is overwhelming.

I just got my hair element test back.  According to the counting rules, my mercury is at toxic levels.  In looking into this a little bit, it explains alot of these symptoms and wonder if anyone else has any info on the mercury connection?  And mercury really disrupts hormones and the endocrine system.  i just got finished having all my amalgams removed and am looking into a chelation protocol.

The general rule of thumb is to support the adrenals before chelation.  If my fatigue is an indication of my adrenals, then they need support.  Trouble is I don't know where to begin.  Anyone here have any advice?

I've had my thyroid checked out in the past but it is always normal.  I am underweight, have low body temp's, low blood pressure and low pulse rate.  Some days I can manage light house type work and other days I can't move and feel too tired to breath.  I've been unable to work for a year...

Just wondering if anyone out there had any advice as to where to start with the adrenal support and info on the mercury toxicity.

Hi Heather, I'm not normally in this forum but your question about mercury was interesting because of what I've read. If you have been (or had been in the past) eating a lot of seafood, primarily tuna (even canned tuna), salmon and swordfish as well as other fish, it's possible you could have acquired mercury from those.

So, if you've been eating fish to any extent, then I would cut down on it until your testing comes out normal. Have you been to an endocrinologist?

You can get mercury from fillings, food, liquids ect. It's in everything. Its scary. If you detox, make sure you do it under a doctors supervision. It can be a bit dangerous if not done right.

A case study. Attempted self harm by successful injection of mercury. This is one of various cases. Even with the mercury actively in this person's system, there was no noted deficiencies two years after initially being seen.

My point is that mercury can be harmful, no doubt, but this person and others with sizable quantities in them are alive and well. One way that LIQUID elemental mercury is harmful is when it evaporates and the fumes are breathed in. It's my understanding that a teaspoonful of mercury takes 20 years to evaporate.

Just FYI in trying to help people put mercury exposures into perspective.

Be well.

I found this book very helpful re: adrenal fatigue.

http://www.amazon.com/Adrenal-Fatigue-Century-Stress-Syndrome/dp/1890572152

I also just found this book and found the connection between the thyroid and adrenals very interestign:

http://www.amazon.com/Overcoming-Adrenal-Fatigue-Energized-Harbinger-ebook/dp/B004Z8W1GO/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1391548798&sr=1-1&keywords=overcoming+adrenal+fatigue

Everything is connected is what I am finding out.  Each of systems affects the other, when there is an imbalance it affects everything else.  I am finding a lot of info linking blood sugar problems, thyroid, adrenals, chronic fatigue and other things.  Seems we need to treat this on all fronts.
