I know no one is qualified to diagnose here, especially over the internet. I'm looking for people who could relate or who might recognize something in my symptoms that looks like a disorder/disease that they are familiar with. I've done a lot of research, but I'm at a loss. I feel like I'm going crazy. CFS is the closest, but even that seems like a stretch and is so hard to get diagnosed. I've always been so healthy!
I'm in pretty high spirits *despite* my fatigue, so I don't think it's depression, and neither do the people around me who've witnessed me "deteriorate". MS does run in my family and I've never been tested for allergies though my mum and dad both have seasonal ones.
Current fatigue has lasted since January of this year when I also caught Every single virus I came into contact with, had a sinus infection, a rash from taking amoxicillan, inner ear problems, a prolonged tracheal cough, and pink eye.
All mono tests and CMV tiders came back negative at that time. My blood work and thyroid look fine according to my doctor.
On a daily basis I have the following symptoms:
Extreme fatigue (often requiring naps)
inability to function in the mornings
lightheadedness/dizziness upon standing
low b/p
low body temp
feeling of fever if my body temp gets up to 98 degrees (which is rare)
dark circles under eyes
increased sensitivity to alcohol and caffeine (compared to a year ago)
impaired memory (remembering names/right words/etc)
impaired concentration
feeling cold when it's not that cold/uncontrollable shivering if it is slightly cold
lack of appetite
If I don't sleep at least 8 hours:
dull headache
nausea
heaviness of limbs
laryngitis (half the time)
sore throat
dull muscle aches in legs/shoulders and neck
very impaired concentration
irritibility
no appetite
I still am catching every single virus I'm exposed to, but not being in the dorms for the summer means I'm exposed to a lot fewer.
A side note is that I tend to experience fatigue and low grade if any fever for All viruses I contract. I have had past bouts of longish lasting fatigue, but never this long or to this extent.
past bouts of fatigue:
january and february sr yr of hs...ruled post flu malaise by pediatrician
april and may freshman yr of college, accompanied by sore throat...ruled incompetency of health center at diagnosing strep by me
Sorry for the brief life history, but I feel like the more info, the more chance that someone might look and say "hey, that looks like the symptom combo for blank disorder/disease/difficiency/problem" and might be able to help. I barely made it through last semester at college and don't know if I can do it again feeling this way.
Thank you Sooo much if you've read this far.
